Love that they've created a holodeck.

It is some cool stuff. Like the article indicates, not very practical to only be able to serve one guest at a time. But instead of shipping MagicBands, maybe they will get to the point where they ship VR helmets instead, pre-programmed with your choice of experiences and attractions - preselected online, of course.

Then you wouldn't even have to go to Orlando or wait in any lines. Of course, have to figure out how to enable you to continue to be able to make purchases; will have to wait for Amazon to perfect their 1-hour delivery by drone option first.

:)

From the article: "Already, Disney says, MagicBands have led to increased spending at the park."

Um... no. The CONSTANT price increases for food and park tickets have led to INCREASED spending in the parks.

Spin it for the stock holders Disney, spin it for the stock holders. Profits before presentation is the new focus.

It seems to me that both scenarios are possible/likely. Increased use of FP+ gives folks more time to spend in the shops or restaurants rather than standing in line. Yes, prices are up as well. We, as outsiders, just don't have the information to tell which is the big contributor to increased spending.

I love what Bob Igar has done for the Disney company. He's really elevated the entire brand worldwide, whether its parks, movies, animation, TV, etc etc... he's been a fantastic CEO in my opinion (and remember, Disney is a TON more than just theme parks).
