Was thinking about booking a breakfast at Boatwrights at POR, and walking over from POFQ.
Is it good?, skip it?, go someplace else for better breakfast?
Opinions?

I went ahead and booked a breakfast this afternoon.
I was reading about the banana stuffed french toast. - is that a good bet?

We really enjoyed Boatwright's in Oct. It wasn't even our resort, but I wanted to try those sweet potato pancakes! And they were fabulous!! Dh enjoyed his food too. Really great breakfast - go for it!

I've only eaten dinner there, though I've stayed at POFQ twice. Be sure to try the beignets at POFQ and see Eliott Dyson at Scat Cats. The boat ride to DTD is great.

Boatwright's has a pretty good breakfast IMHO. The sweet potato pancakes are very good If you are staying at POFQ I would definitely give them a try.

Banana Stuffed French Toast!

Then go to the Kona Cafe and have the Tonga Toast...compare and contrast. Then repeat because one time isn't enough.

I agree on the banana stuffed French toast - YUM! Depending on when you are going an ADR is a good idea. We make them for breakfast since otherwise you could be waiting awhile.

It's great to hear so many rave reviews. I have been trying to decide if we wanted to do breakfast at Boatwright's one morning. The banana stuffed french toast and the sweet potato pancakes both sound delicious. How will I ever decide which one to order??? I guess I better call soon and make my ADR!

Just make sure you walk around POR afterwards to work it all down.

I am definitely tempted to order both. I may not be able to walk afterwards though and then I would have to spend the rest of my morning on a bench watching the rest of the world go by.

But then...I only live once...

I would strongly suggest you do. We had them and still waited OVER 45 minutes to be seated. Never again--especially since we hated the meal.

I also would recommend an ADR (it just make life easier for you and the restaurant) and yummmmm to the Banana stuffed Toast and sweet potato pancakes!!!

This is my 2nd favorite breakfast place in the world! (1st is Crystal Palace)

I should have been more clear in this message. I was talking about an ADR for dinner--we have never done breakfast at Boatwright's.

I'd say it depends on when you're going. We had a group of 10 this past week who got in twice for supper without ADRs. The first night was about 5pm. The second MIL went & asked when we could get in at 6:30 & they told us to be back by 7:45. I was WAY too tired (& starving) to enjoy supper that night.

I have a question about the Sweet Potato Pancakes. We went to breakfast at Boatwrights. Everything was really good. The french toast was delicious. I tried the Sweet Potato Pancakes and they were really mushy. It was like eating mashed sweet potatoes. Is that how they are supposed to be? I didn't eat them, but we had so much other great food that I didn't really care.
