Anybody had the banana stuffed french toast at Boatwright's? I have never had Tonga toast so I won't be comparing it to that. I have lunch ressies at Kona and don't want to double up. We will be staying at POFQ and thought we'd walk over to Boatwright's for breakfast one morning. One other concern assuming it has the same sugar and cinnamon coating as Tonga toast, can I get it without that?

I don't remember it having the same sugary outside. It was just stuffed french toast. VERY GOOD!
The better breakfast dish at Boatwright's IMHO is the sweet potato pancakes with maple butter. SOOOO GOOD! I even got the recipe.
Can't wait for my return trip to POR for those pancakes!

I've had it at Boatwrights, but not the Tonga Toast at Kona, so I can't compare.

I found it not to my liking, it was very very deep fried. Close to burned. I didn't like the oily flavor.

Maybe I got a bad batch?

HUmmm.... I thought I'd already commented on this, hope it doesn't show up twice OR on the wrong thread !:rolleyes1

Anyway that's exactly the answer I was hoping for. Can't wait to try it.
Those sweet potato pancakes sound wonderful, I'll have to go back another morning to try those. I'd just end up at Floatworks if I didn't.
