Boatwright's Dining Hall - Any Good?

Never been here before and thinking of using it for a change on the dining plan. Is it worth it?

We had dinner there in 2008, it was ok but nothing special. If you're not staying at POFQ or POR, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there, so many better options elsewhere.

Thanks for the heads up. Have you tried Whispering Canyon Cafe? If so is that any good?

Nope, sorry, I've never been to WCC. I just made an ADR for the new Mexican restaurant in Epcot, La Hacienda de San Angel, and am very excited to try it in November. Are you more interested in resort dining or restaurants at the parks?

Nope, sorry, I've never been to WCC. I just made an ADR for the new Mexican restaurant in Epcot, La Hacienda de San Angel, and am very excited to try it in November. Are you more interested in resort dining or restaurants at the parks?

We try and mix it and do half and half. What are your favourites?

We love the Biergarten so I we'll be going there again this next trip; we're going to try the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and I'm hoping it'll be good; we also really like the Rose & Crown at dinner with a table on the patio for Illuminations but as I said previously, this time I booked La Hacienda at 7:45 rather than the R&C hoping that the view of Illuminations will be wonderful. The Coral Reef wasn't exactly a disappointment but the service could have been better and the noise level was rather overwhelming. We'll be trying the Sci-Fi at DHS for the first time, I've read that the food isn't stellar but the experience is fun. I'm pretty lukewarm about Liberty Tree Tavern at dinner, last time we ate there it was a character meal, but I pretty much got outvoted this time because other people in my party love the food, it's good but h..e..a..v..y.

That was the first and one of the best dinners that we had in Disney. The pot roast was excellent and so was the collard greens. We had never had them before and they were great.
My husband had to be dragged to Disney and that first dinner was a good start. Enjoy

The better meal food quality was Whispering Canyon, but if I had to pay ( 4 adults ) the meal was $140+ for the shared skillet, expensive for what you got. I think there are better places than both, especially if you are paying full price !!

We are on the dining plan and I do like the idea of the skillet!

I don't know why I never consider the Garden Grill, I forget that it's even there for some reason. The last time we ate there was a long, long time ago and it was called "The Good Turn" back then. Oh well, maybe next time, all of my ADRs are set for this trip now.

I know I am too late to help the OP but this might help someone else:

When we stayed at POR we ate there twice and the food and the service was wonderful. This was May 2009 and the menu has changed since then but some of what we had is still there.

I had the Jambalaya and the pasta dish with chicken. Loved both.

DH & the kids had the grilled tenderloin medallions both times and they thought they were delicious. Oh, and there was a fried chicken and waffles dish that dd had once but it is no longer there.

I also liked the pecan pie and banana fosters dish.

It was nice for us to simply walk a few hundred yards from our room and have a great meal.
