Thinking of making an ADR for dinner one night while we're staying there.
I looked at the menu & just am not sure.
Would hitting the boat & heading over to DTD for dinner be a better idea?

I think Boatwright's is good. Others, I know, say it's just ok. But I love the crawfish bites that they have there.

This restaurant is a bit of a mystery to most. However there have been a couple threads with the same question you are asking in the last few weeks.
I am sure they would be in the first 3-4 pages. You can look for them, as this restaurant doesn't get many reviews.

We will be staying at POFQ in Oct and plan on eating here and I was a bit nervous at first, even though the menu totally appeals to us. But those threads I mentioned did put my mind at ease.

I will say that if the menu doesn't appeal to you no matter how much people love it, you will not. That is a hard lesson we learned dining at WDW.
Go with your gut and the menu that you like.

Have a safe and magical trip!

We had a delish meal there in May of this year..tons of pics and full reviews are in my May 11 thread

It's nothing great. If you are looking to have a quiet night at the resort with no thoughts of leaving, it's good enough and serves its purpose. However, if you plan on leaving POR to go just about anywhere or aren't staying at POR, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.

Probably. I would take a meal at WPC, WPE or EoS over Boatwright's. RR didn't impress us at all and give it only a slight edge over Boatwright's.

We do Boatwrights once a trip and it's pretty good. It definitely is not a quiet dining place- that is our only complaint. Love the pecan pie and the jambalaya

We stayed at FQ in May/June and made ADR's for Boatwrights, very much enjoyed the meal. The food was great. I have my doubts because of some bad reviews, but decided to give it a try and decide for myself. Glad I did and will eat there again. Even did the carriage ride after, great time!

We had a very nice meal there in May 2010 - full review in my signature link to the dining review from that trip. It was a welcome surprise. Not worth going out of the way if you aren't staying at POR, but a fine option if you are and don't want to leave. I wouldn't discourage you from trying it if you see something you might like on the menu.

My opinion is take the boat to DTD,

We are staying at POR and I struggled with making an ADR at Boatwright's versus going to DTD. We are on the dining plan and found we liked the menu best at Boatwright's over any of the restaurants offered on the DP in DTD. I've been to POR once before and walked past Boatwright's but never when they were open. It's in a weird location - between the store and lounge and the food court. It's kind of open with lots of people walking by. But the food gets pretty decent reviews so I guess we'll see.

I decided to go ahead & book it. I think it will be a night that we'd rather stay in anyway. We'll take a chance & see! :thumbsup2
Hopefully we won't regret it! :scared1:

Go to DTD.

We ate there once and it ws below average for Disney food. We plan several evening at DTD anyway, so we go there to play and eat.

In our opinion, this resort restuarant is worth missing.

Our DTD favorite - Sandwich of Earl (fast, easy and delicious) and Bongo (Cuban food which is wonderful and different).

Enjoy!

We stayed at POR and were planning on dinner at Boatwrights but it didnt work out. My parents had breakfast there and said it was really good so would imagine the same would apply to dinner. Roll the dice.....

Boatwrights is always on my list. I really like the prime rib and the desserts are good. I have eaten here 3 times and it was good everytime.
