Hi there! Anyone have any thoughts as to which of the three dining rooms at The Boathouse is the most preferable? Obv, diff strokes for diff folks, but still! It appears that the first dining room - where you enter the restaurant - features vaulted ceilings and a raw bar. Looks really fun and lively, but also loud. The second dining room, where the ceiling drops to standard height, looks calmer and quieter. This is the room where boats and other themed items hang from the ceiling. The third dining area, where the Admiral's bar is located, looks like it is the most refined - mainly teal and white colors. That's the one I'm leaning towards. Thx for the feedback!

How do you define best?
You have already stated what appeals most to you. Everyone is different and everyone will have personal favorites. I would go with your gut for yourself

Why so short? Having never stepped foot inside the restaurant, I was simply looking for some firsthand info re: noise levels, etc. For instance, is the main bar area so loud as to drown out conversation? Are the TVs hanging above the bar a distraction? Or is that main room really what it's all about, with good sound and a colorful ambience that makes the other dining rooms pale in comparison. Are the other dining rooms too sedate? Is there one particular room which has the most water view tables? Etc.

I think the most popular seating request there is to sit in the boat near the front;) I'm sure if you don't want to sit in the bar area you could just let them know. We have always been seated in the 2nd dining (main) area every time we've dined there. You can request a window seat (which is nice) but depending on the time of day you may have to wait longer.

Fantastic! Many thx for the info!

These thoughts would have helped. You seemed to have formed an opinion to me

I'm not sure which room it was, but a couple of years ago we sat in the room with the live music-like at the table right next to the stage-I could have reached over and took the mike from the singer if I had wanted. At first we thought it would be fun, but it was so, so loud that it was horrible. There were double doors going out to the patio/deck area and they had propped them open. It was a chilly evening and we were so cold, we were using the table cloth to try and cover up with! In May we will be requesting to sit anywhere but there.

We sat near the bar at a high top table. As nondrinkers we don't care for the bar atmosphere. I thought the room was loud & not our style. DH would have gone back on our trip in May, but the atmosphere has put me off. I didn't even know there were rooms that might be quieter.

Second this. We were 3 tables back from the stage and it was still WAY too loud for me. Although you do have to take it with a grain of salt as I have freakishly good hearing (it's my super power); so much so that I have to wear ear plugs to see a movie. My husband (normal hearing) even said it was too loud.

Thanks to all for your informative responses. I called the BH and confirmed that the teal and white dining room(i.e. NOT the double vaulted main room with bar/music NOR the adjacent dining room with boats etc hanging from ceiling) is called The Lake House room. You can request whatever dining room you prefer IF you book directly with BH or use Open Table. Incidentally, you can also reserve the "Boat Booth," which - as the name suggests - is the booth that is located in a boat. It is oft photographed. Very cool and fun! But here's the dealio: you need to reserve with a cc and it is a $250 minimum, not including tax and tip. I believe the table can seat at least five. On the other hand - putting price aside for a moment - that booth looks to be located directly behind host stand in main room (back to back) and faces the music stage. So there's that to consider...

We ate there last week and sat in the back in the same room as the Admiral's Bar. It was lovely. Not too loud either. Great view out the windows.

My wife and I personally prefer the veranda just outside the Lake Room. It's small, only a few tables, but it has a great view of the boats and the water.
