Has anyone been to the Boathouse for lunch? It looks to be a place that my Disney hating father might enjoy. DS is planning a Disney trip for his 24th birthday this November and really wants his grandparents to come. My father said he would consider coming for a few days at the start of our vacation.

One thing I have noticed is the lunch menu at AllEars is totally different than the menu on the Disney website. AllEars has a selection of sandwiches at a somewhat reasonable price. The Disney menu has big dollar steaks. Would my parents be able to split a steak if this was the case?

We ate there for lunch about a month ago. I was really excited to try it but it fell a little flat on us. You can order from the bar menu which has smaller plates but you have to ask for it. I ordered the shrimp and andouille sausage mac and cheese (it's normally a side but I just ordered it as my meal) and it was good but too rich to eat much of it. My fault for ordering it just as my meal. My husband had the ahi tuna burger and it was so rare he said it was basically like eating sushi on a bun, I told him to have it recooked but he refused and just picked at it. The bar and the dock outside is so pretty though!

Thank you I had not thought about a bar menu. My boys may eat a lot but the rest of us would be fine with small plates.

ESPN, while not at Downtown Disney Springs, may be a place for Grumpy. Open for lunch.

Also, any of the Signatures at Swan & Dolphin are far less Disney than most places. Again, Grumpy may like Shula's (for steaks and football) or BlueZoo (for fish) - none are available at lunch, however.

On the Boat House's website- the menu listed as "Outdoor Dining" - is that available for both lunch and dinner or just lunch? And does anyone know if you have to sit outside, or can you order from it inside the restaurant?
We have a dinner reservation in Nov., but if that menu is only available for lunch, we'll switch to a lunch reservation.
Thanks to anyone who can help!

That is the menu we want.

It is funny you would say that he raved about his stay at the Swan last year but I do not believe he entered any park.

We stay @ Swan & Dolphin because of affinity points, and we also stay at Bay Lake/Contemporary because of Vacation Club.

Neither place is overly Disney. Kinda' nice to decompress sometimes.

And as you might guess from my posting here, I'm more Dopey than Grumpy.

Hi- I just called the Boat House and spoke w/ a woman named Genisis who said that you can order from the outdoor dining menu anytime- lunch or dinner and you don't have to be outside or bar area to order from it. She said they will be happy to accommodate and get you anything you want :)

Thank you so much for calling! I was wondering this too. This is great - we can sit inside but have the outside menu. Perfect! This is just what we were hoping.
