Boat transportation between parks?

Did I read correctly that you can travel between the parks by boat? Does it go to all four parks and how long does it take?

Actually, the only two parks you can travel between by boat are Epcot and Hollywood Studio. Allow an hour for that trip because you don't know how long you'll have to wait for a boat. I might be less, but if you need to get to the other park for a particular time you're safest to allow an hour.

Thanks! Sounds like an interesting alternative to the bus if we're not in a hurry. We always have park hoppers so at least it's an option.

Transportation by bus isn't necessarily faster. By any mode of Disney transportation, you should always allow an hour for travel between parks or between a resort and a park. Chances are it will be considerably less than that amount of time, but I wouldn't plan on it being less if you have an ADR to get to.

Our last trip we used all forms of transportation.

Rental car from OKW to DHS.
Boat from DHS to BCV.
Our feet from BCV to Epoct (actually got there before the boat did since it has so many stops)
Monorail from Epcot to MK via TTC.
Monorail from MK to TTC.
Bus from TTC to DHS.
Rental car back to OKW.

The boat is pretty slow. It has 3 stops in between DHS and Epcot, with wait time involved there as well. It is, however, a very relaxing ride and we love to stop at Boardwalk to get an ice cream cone.

One thing to note is that the buses go from the Epcot front entrace to DHS, while the boats go from the dock at the front of DHS to the International Gateway back in the World Showcase at Epcot. So, sometimes your choice might be based on whether you are heading to or from World Showcase (or at least the 'right" half of it) vs. Future World.

That sounds good actually. We love World Showcase. Future World is ok but we mostly go to Epcot to eat.:scared1:

I can see riding RRC and ToT and riding the boat over to eat in the Biergarten!

Friendship Boat stops from DHS to Epcot (reverse order as needed):
DHS
Swan
Beach Club
Boardwalk
Epcot

Very relaxing

Just an F.Y.I.:
There are also boats that travel from Disney's Wilderness Lodge to the Magic Kingdom.

When it comes to travel by boat, it may not be the fastest route but it can be a relaxing trip and worth the experience atleast once. :)
