We are arriving around 8PM next Sunday. Staying at POR. Does anybody know what time the last boat leaves for DTD. And what time DTD is open until. Is there a late boat or bus coming back to POR. We are looking for something to do our first night down there. MGM has the PM-EMH that day, but don't know how late they stay open. :)

Downtown Disney is broken up into three sections. Market Place is open until 11:00, West Side is open until 11:00 p.m. - 12:00 and Pleasure Island is open until 1:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m.

We leave on Thursday and will also be at the POR. The boats to and from DTD run throughout the day, every 15 - 30 minutes. It is about a 20 minute ride. During this time of the year (this will be our 5th time visiting at this time) the boat will only take you to Market Place. You will then need to walk to the other areas if you wish to see them. If you want to see the other areas as well, take the bus, it will drop you off at either Market Place or in front of Pleasure Island.

My advice, take the boat to Market Place. It's a wonderful ride and you probably won't want to do more than Market Place that first night, you won't have time.

If you are arriving at the airport at 8:00 you won't get to resort until 9:00, then checking in time.....you might not have any time to do any downtown disney that night.

Thanks for the info. :) We are actually arriving at MCO at 6:50pm. So we were hoping to be to POR by 8:00ish. What time does the last boat leave DTD to go back to POR. Or is there always a bus coming back that we could take. We have never been to DTD and I just didn't want to "miss the boat" :) and have to pay for a taxi back. Do you think it's worth going over to DTD for just a couple of hours or should we try something else that night. The only park open for EMH that night(Sun 10/23) is MGM, and I don't even know how late that's open. We would just like to do something that night we get there. The kids (boys 11 &14) will be so excited to be there. This is only our second trip to Disney (first was 10/2003) and we appreciate any advice you could give us.

Yes I would definately go to DTD that night. A few hours there would be great. It's mainly shopping and eating. You will still be able to get a boat/bus back to the resort. Check with them when you take the boat over to DTD to see what the very last time is, but there will be no problem with you getting back. If you haven't eaten dinner by that time, it would be a good place to grab a bite to eat. Faster services and sit downs are available.

You can Get a bus back to POR up to 12PM from DTD or 2AM from PI Area bus stop. The last boat back is around 10-10:30 PM I believe. You can ask the skipper when the last boat will be. It depends on the time of year and weather with the boat. The boat ride is very very nice. Market Place is open till 11PM as stated and PI till 2AM You could start at Market Place be sure and try Earl's Sandwich for a bite to eat YUMMMM Then stroll over to PI and West side. Take the bus back from PI/WS to POR.

I'm staying at Allstar Movies.. I was wondering if there was a bus that would take us to the Disney Downtown? Is so, will it take a while to get there?

Thanks

Yes there is a bus to DTD from the All Stars. I think it was like a 20 minute ride. Haven't stayed there for a while. Maybe someone else will be able to give you more info.

Thank you so much! Your input is really appreciated. :goodvibes

Or if you did want to go to a park (not sure what kind of tickets you have) MGM is open with EMH till 12AM. We have seasonal passes so it doesn't matter how many days we go to the parks - but if you have MYW tickets and are limited on your days of tickets then I would suggest go to DTD. The boat ride is very nice. When I went with my DSis and my DNiece we took the boat there and then rode the bus back to POFQ.

We were at POR last week. We all want to go back! Anyways the last boat back from DTD leaves at 11:30 p.m. If you miss the boat the buses run until 2 a.m. (because of PI). When we took the but to DTD from WL it brokedown and we all had to get off and wait for another Disney bus to come by and pick us up :( -a new Disney memory for this trip. The boat is a much nicer way to travel in my opinion. Hope you have a great trip! :)
