On our arrival day we only get to MCO at 5.50 pm so I don't expect to be at POFQ before 7.30 to 8 pm. Our tradition is to spend our first evenng at Downtown Disney but that was landing early afternoon. We have a 9 1/2 hour flight from the UK and a 5 hour time difference. I was planning staying at the resort that evening, but I suspect my DD will put of some resistance :rotfl: I can't run it by her as it is a surprise trip. Is it any quicker to take the boat than the bus to DTD?

I don't know if it is any quicker (it depends if you have to wait for a bus or the boat), but it certainly is more pleasant and relaxing as well going by the boat. :thumbsup2

Not counting waiting time, the bus from the French Quarter may be a bit faster than the boat, depending on whether it stops at Riverside to pick up more passengers.

That being said, we would never take the bus unless it were too cold at night or the boats were not running. The boat ride is so much more pleasant.

Now on the way back, the boat is definitely the way to go. We have tried both ways, and this is what happened...

Bus.. a long wait and crowded when it did arrive.

Boat...not a very long wait and never too crowded (of course, we go in January-February)

I think the boats run about every 20 minutes in the evening. Don't know how frequently the bus runs, but last time we waited for one at DTD, it was a 40 minute wait.

Hope this helps. Have a good trip.

It does help. THank you so much.
I suspected that the big drawback with the bus is waiting time. It is simply a gamble as to when the last bus left relative to the time you arrive at the bus stop. I thought the boat might be quicker purely from a wait time perspective. Oh well, I will just wait and see how we feel.

Thanks again :goodvibes
