Boat to Downtown Disney

We are arriving Saturday 10/22 and will be taking it easy that day. The only thing I have planned for sure is a 5:00 reservation at TRex for my ds' birthday. I thought it would be fun to take the boat and I'm thinking we'll be leaving from AK. If we leave at 3:00, taking a bus from AK to PO, does that give us enough time...or maybe too much time? Also - where is the best place to get on the boat? Thanks in advance!

That should be enough time. The boat ride is about 25 mins or so...very nice way to get to DTD.
When you get to POR, just walk through the resort itself and out the back door..you'll see the boat dock in front of you.

I wouldn't worry about being too early! There's lots of window shopping opportunities at DTD, if you need to use up some extra time.

You can also take a boat ride from OKW to DTD. This gives you 2 options while you are waiting at AK for a bus.

I would get off the PO bus at the French Qtr, since it is the first resort stop and just a short walk thru the resort to the launch. You should have plenty of time and the boats run every 10min. that time of day. Love the boats...just sit back and enjoy the ride.
