Boat Strategy Question: WL to MK

A note for those who have early breakfasts at the MK... the best route is to take the TRAN/TICKET CTR bus to the TTC, and hop on the MK Monorail. TTC buses run every 10-12 minutes, and are on a fixed schedule.

As for the route the boat goes... Last I heard, before 3pm, it goes FW->WL->MK... after 3pm, the route is reversed.

We've never had a problem with boat service to the MK or with using the Disney bus system in all the times we've stayed at WL and VWL. We took the Contemporary boat once and then walked to the MK, just to see what it was like. The walk took approx 5 minutes. When we go to WDW we never rent a car so we're forced not to drive. We enjoy the bus trips even if you can get to your destination quicker by car, as we consider using Disney transportation part of the experience. It's one less thing to stress about (combating traffic, finding a parking spot, driving back to the resort after having a drink or two at Epcot), plus you get to sit next to your spouse or child and talk about the events of the day on your way back from the park, or talk about all the exciting things you're going to do on the way to the park, without having to worry about concentrating on driving. We live in a very populated area and fight traffic all day, therefore, look forward to letting someone else do the driving while at Disney.:D

Anyone have an opinion on this??

We will be staying at WL from the Wed (evening) before Thanksgiving to the Sunday after (4 nights).

We want to visit MK on Thanksgiving morning, which is also a magic morning for that park. We have no problems getting up early and are often the first in line at any park we visit. We will have to activate our AP's that morning.

Does the boat run early enough to get us there for EE and for us to activate our passes?

We will have our car with us, but a few times when we've taken the monorail, we get on and it just sits there!

We don't want to activate our passes on Wed. The reason is that next year (2004) s a leap year and we want to get two Thanksgiving trips out of the AP's . If we activate them on Thanksgiving this year, they will be good through Sat of next year

How about once you get there try and get help from the front desk or guest services on first boat to MK in the morning and first bus to TTC and then make your choice. Not sure if this would work but might be the best approach.

I hear maybe sometimes they (the parks) open early on busy holiday days?

Another option might be to order and take a cab but I am not sure how close an official cab is allowed to get to the MK

Thanks
Jason

A cab would be pretty useless... they'd take you to the TTC.

The bus to the TTC starts at 7:00am. Monorails start service to the MK at 7:30.

As for the boat... that's the one thing I don't quite know about for Early Entry... If I actually remember tomorrow, I'll find out.

Tyler is a fine example of an outstanding CM at Disney - a plethora of information!!!

He has come through again!!!

Thanks
Jason
