Hi there...what type of boats can you rent for use at Beach Club? Does anyone know the age requirements or costs...any photos of the boats available?

Thanks

I am not going to be too much help on the details, but I know that a couple of years ago DH couldn't wait to drive a little Sea Ray (I think?). When we got behind the wheel they went about 5 mph! He was FURIOUS! He still talks about how disappointed he was.

We also have rented a pontoon for a fireworks cruise - LOVE - LOVE - LOVE this!! -about $275-$300 for up to 10(?) or so people. You have a driver for this experience.

Lastly we have done a 30 min. ($80ish) ride in the Breathless and a fireworks cruise in the Breathless ($250ish) - an replica of an old wooden speed boat (holds 7) - THEE BEST!! This also has a driver.

You can book the cruises 90 days out.

HTH (a little)

Actually, you rent them at the YC and not the BC. There is no marina at the BC.

If you are staying at one of the resorts that do not have a marina, can you rent boats from other resorts that do?

Yes, you can rent them anywhere. When we took our DSs a few years ago, they wanted the fastest Sea Racers they could get.
They decided the fastest ones were the GF, so that's where they went, even though we were at OKW. And in April, that's again where DS rented his, although then he was at BWV.

If you rent at the YC/BC, and are a DVC member, you get a 10% discount on the little boats. Don't forget to bring your card, or room key that says DVC! I'm not sure about discounts for other watercraft, and I'm sure there's no discount for the fireworks cruises. You can also get the discount at other rental docks. Have fun!:boat:

Thanks, we love renting the boats.

I agree that the best place to rent watercraft is Bay Lake. The other lakes the boats are fixed to go very slow.

We did the Illuminations cruise from the YC and that is very nice!

We will only rent those watermice on Bay Lake because they go the fastest.

Also looking forward to renting a Whaler!

:thumbsup2

CR, POLY or GF have them
with these resorts and OKW or POR you have a lot more water to cruise in for the larger boats. All of the other resorts and places to rent you are very limited as to were you can go.
DTD if you rent the larger boats you van leave the lake if you rent the 2 seat boats you are stuck in that lake.
Good Luck

I have never heard of a Whaler? What is it?

TIA

It is a BostonWhaler it is a brand of Boats.
Disney has 3 boats sizes the small sea racer 2 people max the BostonWhaler which I think is 8 max and a pontoon boat which is I think 12 max..
The Boston whaler is best known as a fishing boat but the Dinsey ones are laid out to have seats...
they do have different size engines depending where you rent from the faster ones are on the seven seas lagoon and bay lake.
The slower ones --all other places kinda sound like a broken vacum at full throttle-- the make a lot of noise but accomplish nothing.
