What did I read recently about a swimming/boating/watersports package available at WDW resorts? It sounded like a nice alternative to non-stop theme parks.

Can anyone shed some light on what's included, what it costs, and whether is a DVC option or any-guest option? Are there any websites that provide good info about it?

Thanks.
Kelley

I'd like to hear about this also, sounds like something that could be fun.

It is offered at WL dock and YC dock - don't know about the Polyn, Cont or GF - you can only use it at the dock where you brought it

the price is $199 (not including tax) for 5 people (adults and kids) to use most of the boats/bikes at that particular dock - you don't have to be staying at that resort to use this program - it is only good at the dock where you brought it

if you buy it at WL and you are staying at okw - you can't take it back to OKW and use it there - (I know I have say it enough times - but this is the only problem with this program)

the 5 people must also be staying in 1 room (and yes the 2-bedroom villa is included as 1 room in this program).

it is for the lenght of your stay - no matter how long - it you are staying 5 days or 20 days.

oh I forgot the 5 people must be named at the time you take out the plan - I don't think it allows changes or transfer to other people. I don't know if the 5 people need to be there - I don't think so - but I am not sure.

Don't know if the contemporary has this offer too - DVC members get 10% off at the Sammy Duval water sports center, so you may be able to combine this offer with the DVC discount. Worth looking into!!

The last time this was discussed, the folks that had used it before indicated that the $199 deal was already discounted and the 10% DVC discount does *not* apply.

I could have sworn it was for 5 days or something like that. Really, your whole stay!?!? Wow!

Yes, it's also available at the Contemporary (and GF). It's NOT discounted since it's already a great deal.

Only the 1/2 hour and hour rentals are discounted.

I'm pretty sure the limit is 7 days.

We did this last week at VWL. Including the tax, it cost $211.94. No one said we had to all be staying in the same room (we were because we were in GVs at OKW & BWV). It is for up to 5 people for your LOS - or up to 3 weeks. You may use the water mice, canopy boats, 21' pontoon boats and regular bikes. You may have people that are not the ones signed up for the plans as riders - like our grandchildren. The marina staff at VWL are quite nice, and we enjoyed using the boats. They request that you check back after one hour to make sure no one is waiting for your equipment. We never kept a boat out any longer than one hour. While we were there the weather was fairly iffy and twice the lake patrol cleared the lake after we were out less than 30 minutes. When we signed up, I was told by the cashier that the plan price would be increasing in about a month, but they did not know how much it would cost then. Also, we were told you cannot check out equipment before 10 A.M. and they will not check out equipment after 5:45 P.M., and everything must be returned before 7 P.M.

And it is for the length of your stay on Disney property, no day limit. I also believe you must have atleast one adult, either over 18 or 21 on each contract of five that you have.

Wow. That's about the best deal going! I can't believe it's LOS! Awesome! What a great way to relax! :)

Are the sailboats included in this plan as well?

Pat

We were staying at the OKW resort we we did the Family plan last summer at WL. Was the best deal at the World. They do ask you to check back often (every hour or so) in case lots of people are waiting for boats. Riding bikes over to Fort Wilderness was also great.:smooth:

The sailboats are included in the plan at GF and the Polynesian I know as my DH has taken them out. However, you have to be staying at the Polynesian or GF to do the plan there.

Used this plan last October at VWL - we were staying at BCV but still, even with having to travel back and forth more than got our money's worth. They said you could use the sailboat but I think there was a requirement that you be 18 or over and demonstrate that you knew what you were doing. The water mice on Bay Lake are now my favorite Disney Ride or at least tied with RRC and TOT. Didn't think I'd say that at 60 but guess stranger things could happen I guess.
