We stayed at POR on our last trip to Disney and we would happily stay there again, but we are considering going deluxe next time. Our kids will be bigger (we have three) so the extra room will be nice, plus we like the idea of stay in a little more luxury.

All of the deluxes seem wonderful in their own way, but the Boardwalk really appeals to me. I love the look of the guest rooms, the location is great, and the theme seems fun. If you have stayed there, what was your impression? How is the pool? Will it be a nice place to stay with kids (ages 10, 9, and 5 in 2007)

Thanks in advance for any input :)

We stayed there in 2003 and enjoyed it very much. The theming is nice, and the location is excellent, since we're Epcot lovers anyway. I prefer the pool at the Yacht and Beach Club (could skip the clown slide) but for kids the age of yours, I think it would be wonderful. The Boardwalk is also a fun place for a family at night, espcially the magic shows.

I have only been to Disney once, so I'm not sure how "good" my advice is...

Our first choice for our Fairy Tale Wedding/Disneymoon was the Poly. But, as fate would have it, they were doing some renovations during our dates so we decided to change our location/rooms...we chose the Boardwalk.

OMG!!! IT WAS FABULOUS!!! DH and I just absolutely fell in love with this place! The location, the look, the feel, just everything was so beautiful and darn near perfect!!! :sunny:

There's a part of me that wants to try some of the other resorts (and we did sort of visit the GF, Poly, and CR, none of which really seemed to "charm" us like the Boardwalk). But, to be honest, we simply can't wait to go back and stay at the Boardwalk!

It's hard to say "why" we liked it so much...but I'll be more than happy to answer any questions! :)

I can't comment too much on the pool except it looked cool! :teeth: We didn't go swimming 'cause we were too enthralled with all the other stuff at Disney (it was our first trip, after all). :)

Well, I stayed there for the first time in June for A "GIRLS ONLY" weekend and LOVED it. The location just can not be beat and it is SOOO peaceful there! Like hiwaygal said...It is hard to say why I loved it so much...I think I loved the peace of the location...even though it is in the middle of everything and you can see Epcot it is so quiet and serene. I love the MK area but it always feels like it is "on"...maybe because of the sound of the monorail??This is not a bad thing...I am just the type that LOVES the peace of the early morning...I was in HEAVEN each morning, drinking my coffee quietly overlooking the water and Spaceship Earth!

I found the resort to be just beautiful and know my kids will LOVE the pool when we return in the Spring! I am also looking forward to having a nice night out with DH in Epcot while the kids are being cared after at the resort..we will have a sitter come in. We can walk over to Epcot, have a great dinner, enjoy Illuminations while sipping on a beverage, and then head over to the Boardwalk to either the Espn club or Jellyrolls before turning in..no bus ride and no driving....just a great adult night out!

So, now that I have rambled :rotfl2: I LOVE IT THERE!

BWI/BWV and OKW are my two favorite resorts so far.

Plusses would be:
Convenient Disney Transportation
Very nice and classy atmosphere
Enjoy having the Boardwalk right there, pretty at night
Good and convenient choice of lots of restaurants very close
Off season Epcot stays open later than the other parks, it's nice being in the area where "stuff still is going on"

Negatives would be:
Big crowded parking lot, sometimes have to park further away
There is no "snack shop" for refilling mugs or snacks unless you go walk out to the Boardwalk

We've stayed at CR Tower, AKL, BWI, BWV, BCV, OKW and SSR so far and the Boardwalk tops that list.

.

::yes::

Our kids, nephews and nieces loved the pool (and the hotel). The potential minus there is if you've been to the YC/BC pool, any other pool doesn't measure up.

I can tell you that it got very chilly after Wilma rolled through and the pool was like bath water. Getting out was :hyper: , but the water coming down the slide was almost hot.

Ohhh, awesome. I LOVE super warm pools. They are luxurious, just the best on vacation. And hard to find because most hotels don't want to spend the money to heat it like that. I'm so looking forward to going in SAB in January! :teeth:
