Hi,I can't get prices due to high traffic on the Disney website so I was wondering if someone can help me. Looking for 4 or 5 days in June 2006,preferably the third week. 4 adults,my wife, teenage daughter&son and myself. Any help is appreciated. Also what's the comparison in ordering from Disney as opposed to renting points from a member.

Thanks
Bill

A studio at BW will run you about $250 per night, or if you have an AP you could get it for $199 per night. When you rent from a member the points usually cost about $10 per point per night, so that a standard room is $110 and a preferred is $140 per night. As you can tell, it's cheaper to rent points from a member to pay for the room than it will be to pay cash for the same room.

Just wanted to make sure you know that all of the BWV studios have 1 queen bed and a double sleep sofa. None have 2 queen beds.

Best wishe s-

Paying cash with CRO will also require that you pay extra adult fees for anyone over the age of 17 in excess of two adults. So tack that on too. AP rate for a studio is about $215/night. I had an AP rate at SSR in June. I have AP rate at CR in August for about $220/night.

ALSO PAYING CASH YOU HAVE TO PAY TAXES, RENTING POINTS NO TAXES.

And although I'm pretty sure you'd like to conserve money...a BW studio means that the four of you need to fit in 1 queen and one sofabed. A 1 bedroom would at least offer room for teen son to put cushions on the floor if he wouldn't be caught dead sleeping on a sofa bed with his dad or his sister.

Of course if you are used to getting just a hotel room, you will do fine in a studio.

Don't know where you got that price. The WDW website says $339/night plus tax. There is no place I have seen that you can get a studio for $250/nt.

So, the best thing for the OP to do is to rent points. I just booked 1st week in June 06, and just for yuks looked up the price and it is close to $2000 for 5 days!

She probably thought the OP is a DVC member. It doesn't sound like it to me, but it's sure possible.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure Cruella he was talking about the 25% cash discount for members - $250/night plus tax is a pretty good "average" for a studio with the member discount (when it's available).

Best wishes -

Lets not forget too...if you rent direct from CRO it will cost more but you'll get daily housekeeping and more lenient cancellation policies....renting pts from a member without a doubt is usually the more cost effective way to go but you won't get the daily housekeeping (unless you pay extra for it of $25 per day for a studio and upwards for larger size villas) and there will be a trust factor involved with renting from a member as well as most likely less lenient cancellation policies. Totoally worth it in most cases, but it's not for everyone.

You may want to check out the FAQ link on the DVC Rent/Trade board. Best of luck and pixie dust:wave:

We're going in Oct '06 with another mom and her dd. I wanted to be able to show her what the cost would be if she had been paying cash for the different villas since she is intent on paying her way. So, a studio was $334, a one-bdrm was $450. Those are the rates I got from the WDW site based on '05 rates for the same time frame. I would find someone to rent points from....much cheaper.
