To all of you Boardwalk Villa veterans out there can you please answer a couple of questions for me... I think we are going to try and book a studio ((2 adults travelling)) there and I am looking at a map of the resort but I cannot find where the laundry :laundy: is, it's probably right in front of my face but I just can't seem to find it. :lmao:

And onto the more important question -- I will attempt to get a Boardwalk View (though I know... I know... it will be hard to get); I'd love to be in a standard view to save some points but I've read that will be nearly impossible if I don't own and book before 7 mos so I won't hold my breath there... so onto my question -- what building/section/etc do you request and why? I've never even visited the resort so I have no idea what so ever where to even try and request! Any insight would truly be appreciated for what to request for a Boardwalk view should I get lucky to book that or Pool/water view?

BWV is all one building. The best advice I can give is review the information on DVCNews.com under the resorts tab. It gives a listing of rooms and reviews.

I am no BWV expert, but my dh and I stayed there in May and booked a perferred studio we requested a "Village Green" view and got it it had a HUGE balcony and we could see the ESPN Zone and bakery and the boats coming and going. We saw the MK fireworks and some of the high Illumination ones over the building. Very close to the elevators and the Store. (2nd floor room 5055) I loved this location, It was easy to get anywhere right down to store, lobby and BW. I believe they are all studios in the village green area?? The laundry is right near the pool area and next to the gym, I almost missed it as it is in a room that has a small sign on it looks like a regular hotel room door.
Hope this helps

BWV is all one building, as mentioned. A BW view is the same points as a preferred (pool) view. If you want to face the quiet pool/community hall, request to be away from the elevator. (you will also see DHS) If you want to face the main pool, as for closer to the elevator. (you might see DHS and Swolphin)

The BW views are across the hall from the main pool views. The standard views are across the hall from the quiet pool.

Can't help you on laundry location, sorry.

We were there in May also...room 5061 right down the hall. Those rooms overlooking the Village Green are great!
Another note...while BWV is one building, the hallways can be very long after a long day at the parks!

The laundry is on the first floor just around the corner from the elevators - away from the health club. You'll need your room key to enter.

I just got back from 2 nights at BWV standard view studio and I don't own there. I also made ressies for this Feb and got the standard studio again at the 7 month window. It's not impossible. I did call at 9am on the 7 month mark. My first ressie was waitlisted for maybe 3 weeks before it came through.

none of the DVC laundry mats show up on the resort maps - except SSR and OKW.

think this is overkill on disney's part. they don't want the regular guest to use them.

but if only a DVC key can open the doors - then what is the problem.

BWV, VWL, AKV (Kidani), BLT - is first floor
BCV is 4th floor
AKV (Jambo house) is 5th floor

ssr & okw are next to the pools.

BWV, VWL and BLT are close to elevators.

BWV is right (gym is to the left) from the elevator - (so it is also fairly close to the main pool)

BLT is close to the north side elevators - it is not far from the pool

VWL standing in the elevator is to the right - (you can only go down one hall here)

I was able to get BWV standard view 1BR at 4 months out so be sure to ask when you call at 7 months. Of course some times of the year will probably be harder to get than others.

Hmm thanks for the Standard room comments. I will try and see if I can get one :)

At 7 months I got a standard BWV studio during the F&W festival. The irony is that while I took it, I couldn't get into BCV. So the standard view studio at BWV is my "back-up" reservation in case my BCV waitlist doesn't come thru!

We will be in a studio in Oct at BW and I was going to request the Village Green area, but was worried about noise. Do you hear much noise from people below or from the boats coming and going.

Noise? I've stayed in studios all over BWV, including the Village Green area. That was one of the quieter area. Now if you want noise to drive you crazy, get a BW view across from the Basketball game...Ding!....Ding! Every few minutes. The repetitiveness is what made it so annoying. But at least, thankfully, the game closed at 11:00.
