We have an upcoming trip to the BWV (garden/pool view) and I am trying to figure out how to best increase my chances of NOT getting a balcony with solid walls. We got one with solid walls one time when we had a BW view and wound up not using our balcony as we couldn't see the boardwalk at all when sitting in the balcony chairs. I have found several sites that show all of the rooms from the boardwalk side, which helps know which rooms do or do not have the solid walls, but can't find any images of the garden/pool view balconies.

Does anyone have any pictures that show the balconies for the garden/pool view rooms? Or, does anyone know whether they even have any of the solid wall balconies for the garden/pool view rooms? I know there aren't many on the BW view side but there are enough that I wound up in one that one time.

You can see some behind the trees here:

We had one of those 4th floor, solid wall studios last month.
While the wall was kinda a bummer, but we didn’t have a clown view (even when standing and looking over the wall) and I think the wall made for a more quiet room.
Plus it was a dedicated studio (no connecting door) and close to the elevator.
I enjoy balcony time and still did OK sipping my am coffee. In the afternoon/evening I got to watch a few storms roll in.
Overall I wouldn’t mind getting that room again.

I would strongly encourage you to view the Touring Plans room view finder..It will give you a very good idea of which rooms do have that enclosed balcony.....:thumbsup2.... and then put in a request on your reservation the general area where you would like to be..including "no enclosed balcony" I think that would def be helpful to the room assignor...and good luck!

Thanks for this info! Which portion of the building were you in? I'm guessing you must have been overlooking the Luna Pool based on the clown comment :jester:. I'm now wondering if any of the rooms that overlook the community hall/quiet pool have the solid wall.

You're not the first person I've heard of that liked the solid walls. I just like to watch the activity on the ground, or especially on the water with the boats going by, etc., so I'm still hoping to get an open balcony.

Thanks again for the info!!

Thanks! I have actually looked at many, many rooms on the TP room finder - most just don't show the balcony walls but rather show what you would see if you are standing up. But I'll keep looking!

EDITING TO ADD - Actually, when I went back and looked at TP again, I focused more this time on the views of other rooms' balconies rather than that room's balcony (does that make sense?) - which gave me much more info on the balcony question than I had picked up on earlier! Thanks!!

Thanks again.

I think we had room 4060, it was behind the red wall linked above.

We had both a tree and the pool bar blocking the clown face.

Here’s a picture I took from the balcony of the July 4th storm rolling in:

(While we stayed dry in our room, looking at social media posts of drenched guests, then walked into Epcot as the rain stopped for the delayed fireworks)

Perfect. Thanks!!

I, too, do not like the enclosed balconies at the Boardwalk Villas so I asked at the front desk how to word my request in order to avoid them and was told to request "no solid balcony" :cool1:

I always do that too. Had good luck other than the one time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for February!
