Boardwalk Villas vs. Beach Club

Here is the main difference between the two...the pool. If you love swimming, or have little kids, the Beach Club is definitely the way to go. It is basically a three acre water park, with slides, a sand bottom, lazy river, and beach right in the pool. The BWV has better nightlife, and lots of fun stuff to do at night. That said, you can walk to the BW from the Beach Club. The location of both resorts are great, you can walk to HS and EPCOT from both. We tend to stay at the Beach Club whenever we can, especially if it is during swimming season. Either way, you can't go wrong!

Good luck!
Michelle

Both resorts are close to great dining and snack options... Boardwalk Bakery is great, then again so is Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club. Storm Along Bay is by far the best Pool on Property. There are also nightly movies on the beach.

I agree with the other poster....the pool.
If you are going during warmer months and want to lounge around the pool, definitely BCV. Otherwise, same location, similar style. The only other difference would be the covered walk to the marketplace.
Either place, the location is perfect.

We always choose BWV. Why? It is a shorter walk to the Dolphin and Swan conference centers.

I agree with the PPs, but I would also add that BCV seems a bit quieter, and parking is closer to the villas. It seems like there is more action at the BW resort; parking is a lot farther away too.

Others might disagree, but I agree-BCV seems quieter to me also. And in the studios, BCV has a coffee table, BWV doesn't. I know this is a very small thing, but it enhances my enjoymen(ie-gives me someplace to rest my feet while watching TV).

We love BWV. The bonus is the std view rooms, which cost less points, so we can stay longer!

We own at Boardwalk and did our first stay at Beach Club.

A lot of people love the pool at the BC. Our kids wanted to pool hop back over to Boardwalk. Its a very large pool, very hard to watch young kids (and older kids would often rather go to a waterpark), and its a hike from the Villas. Luna Park is much more convienent to BWV than SAB is to BCVs.

Boardwalk has a lot more bustle than the Beach Club. Its a busier place.

I've heard a lot of complaints about the long hallways at the Boardwalk. I was unprepared for the long walk we had to our room at the Beach Club.

I like the table setup in the one and two bedrooms at BCV better than at BWV. But the closet and balcony were both much smaller - I missed my huge closet. The entry area worked better at BCV too.

We enjoyed the Beach Club, but won't head back. We'll continue to stay at the Boardwalk - and use our points 11 months out to get the standard view rooms or the Boardwalk View rooms.

Just purchased a small add-on at BCV, so now I own at both. Why? I like the convenience of having a CS and restaraunts onsite and the dedicated two bedrooms. Just a whole different experience. We love both!!:)

The epcot resorts are the best.

To me the difference between the two are the health club at bcv
(the steam room is amazing). Although BWV has a decent club it is not the same.

BWV has the standard view rooms, and that is a great deal!

Anyway you can not go wrong with either.

I would have to say you can't go wrong with either, bot awesome resorts!!!!

Add me to the "hard to go wrong" camp. But, I think BCV works a little bit better for families with kids---the pool, and the more calm pace of life there. To me, BWV's more active vibe is a bit more suited for an adult trip.

Parking is much easier at BCV. Parking can be horrific at BWV, especially around busy times at Epcot when everyone wants to park for free so they try to park at the BW.

BCV tends to be quieter, but BWV seems to be more right in the middle of the action (that BW View can be great if you like that).

BCV does have dedicated two bedroom villas with two queen beds in the second bedroom (only 25), but BWV has no dedicated two bedroom villas. They are all lock offs.

I'm not a fan of SAB or Luna Park. I prefer the quiet pools at both.

BCV has the Marketplace for limited counter service. BWV only has the Bakery and some very limited counter service at the resort. Sorry, I don't remember the name of the place at the BW (it's a bit closer to the Inn if I recall correctly).

BWV has the option of perferred and standard villas. BCV only has one option.

Another plus for the Boardwalk is the community hall. Great games, activities, and bikes for rent.

On the other hand I believe that BCV has a kids club where BWV does not.

I really didn't like the Marketplace. Yes, it had counter service food - and more selection than the Bakery at the Boardwalk - but it was always over crowded and they used the space that they had for souvenirs. (Plus I'm gluten intolerant anyway, so a sandwich counter doesn't do much for me in either location).

My experience with B&C was similar - yes, its a great place - but we swung by three or four times during the week - and at off times - and there were always 45+ minute waits.

I have all my points at BWV but have stayed at the Yacht Club and Beach club a couple of times and for me they don't compare favorably to the boardwalk. I alwys get the BW view when I stay and there is nothing like that view for me. I love to sit on my balcony and watch all the activity below. My family usually has about 19 members that go together every three years and the guys love to hang out at the ESPN club while the ladies get ready to go out for the night. The younger kids love the pool slide and all the carnival stuff happening every night. I personally didn't like how spread out the pool was when trying to watch the younger kids . It's all a matter of taste but to me I always stay at the BW and get the view.

I personally prefer BWV to BCV. BWV feels more "upscale" to me. Has my fav restaurant Flying Fish.

More importantly....everyone Loves the pool.....I don't. Too spread out for me. I think it is a crazy pool for a family with small children.

Going back in April(BCV)....DD8 does love the pool....but it is too much work for mama bear.....who likes to chillax with an umbrella drink on the loungechair and see all the action....Can't do that at BCV....to big and spread out.
Happy planning
Kerri

I remember visiting the beach club last year an taking a stroll from one end the boardwalk to the other being the beach club and the beach club was just too hectic crazy. Nowhere to sit outside of the restaurants and such. I think if given a choice boardwalk would win for us too

I think resort choice is such a personal decision. What appeals to one may not appeal to another. If you are inquiring about where to buy in as a DVC investment, I would strongly advise you visit both locations prior to making your decision.

For me it's BCV hands down. While we love to visit BWV at night for the restaurants and entertainment, I love to walk back "home" over to BCV. There is no place I'd rather be than BCV!
