Boardwalk Villas Tips Needed

Pre-COVID, I would always go into the big gift shop on the BoardWalk to check out their baked goods and other sweet treats. The selection was different from that of BoardWalk Bakery, and sometimes better. When you walked in the doors, it was to the left, in a display case near the grocery freezer section.

I haven't been since the Pandemic started, so I don't know what they have at this point.

Also - the Swan/Dolphin have their own app. It has up-to-date information regarding their restaurant hours and menus. You should download the app, since Swan and Dolphin and Swan Reserve are a short walk from BoardWalk.

I highly recommend getting a grocery order for lunch but if you are willing to splurge the restaurants and bakery are great. The pizza window was also a lifesaver one night! Enjoy the villas-they are gorgeous

Question?

Have you been to Disney before? Like what sort of tips are you looking for?

  • Bring a hotspot in case the Disney network is being slow/having issues
  • Bring a way to connect your laptop to the TV via HDMI if you like

With Boardwalk its so easy to get to the parks so it will make it easier for your Wife to go both to Epcot and Hollywood Studios in the mornings and do MK/AK the days you are not working or in the evening when you will join them. Also MK you can get the headliner rides in likely the Deluxe evening hours night since you will have 2 of them while there.

The Bellevue lounge also has seats outside on a balcony.
It is usually quiet there during the day.

Here's a few other tips:
- The Yacht and Beach club have market places that have decent breakfast and lunch options.
- Make sure to check out the dining options at the Swan/Dolphin. They have some nice options over there.
- You can very easily walk over to Fantasia Gardens for mini golf. We usually do this at least once per trip.
- There is a Speedway convenience store/gas station within walking distance. We usually go over there and grab beverages to have in the room. They are MUCH less expensive over there than at the Disney-owned shops and they have different options available too.

Our most recent BWV stay was for the 50th anniversary (October). The selection of goodies at the General Store (i.e. the big gift shop) was pretty good although not as good as I remember it being pre-COVID. But this is the case at a lot of places. Disney clearly has switched to a "simplified" menu at all locations since they reopened in July 2020.

I've been to Disney World probably 5 times in the last 10 years.

More than anything I was looking for hidden gems or any extra information that you guys have learned by staying at boardwalk. So for example, maybe you stayed there and it wasn't until the end of the week that you learned something great that you wished you had known at the beginning of the trip.

The advice I am looking for is specific to our situation (i.e. I'll be working most days, we have three kids, etc).

Thanks!

A few of you have mentioned community hall. Our last visit to WDW was in February of 2021 and we stayed at Kidani Village. The activities were pretty limited at community hall. Are things a bit more normalized with the activity schedule?

For things maybe not fully obvious:
You can walk to HS much earlier than any other transportation to be first in line.

There are "hidden" stair wells around the resort so you don't always have to go through the main lobby. So take a look your first day at maps or around the resort to figure out the best way to get around. Example you might go through the lobby to Epcot, out by the quite pool to HS, and out a side entrance to get to the bus stop.

Boardwalk bakery is great for lunch and Primo Piatto is super easy to get to at Riviera for a good lunch QS as well.

We did not use the Community Hall when we were there in September and October, so we cannot say how normal it was.

What I did see when we were at the BWV quiet pool was a hand-full of kids were going in and out of the Community Hall. Still, Cast Members stationed there seemed to be outside a lot, encouraging anyone they could to come in.
