My friend & I are staying at Boardwalk the end of August for a girls' only weekend. We'll be in a studio with a garden/pool view.

Having never stayed at Boardwalk - I'd love to hear/read more about them and see pictures if you have them.

Thanks!!

We stayed in a studio in May in a ground floor studio that faced the canal and path to Disney's Hollywood Studios. The things that stood out for us were:

1) The ten-minute wlak to Epcot's back gate was wonderful.
2) The twenty-minute walk to DHS was calm and peaceful, but the boat proved to be easier on the feet for some in our party.
3) The clown slide at the main pool was way cool. Even if you don't like slides, it's worth climbing once at night for the view.
4) It took a couple of days to get the lay of the land within the resort itself. Hallways branch this way and that, the front of the hotel is a floor higher than the Boardwalk in back, and there were shortcuts here and there by going outside.
5) The surrey bikes are fun to do once, but take a bit of work to get up the two slight hills. Or you could walk around the lake and spend the twenty bucks on something else.
6) There isn't much in the way of counter service there, just a single-cashier bakery and a take-out pizza window. Oh, and the pool bar. Walking over to the Beach Club doesn't help much as their CS has a pretty limited menu, salads and sandwiches. Perhaps we're spoiled by the Mara at AKL.
7) We didn't get to take in too much of the Boardwalk entertainment because our son was pooped by the time things were getting hopping in the evening. It looked fun though.

We had a great time and will stay there again. Hope that your stay is magical too!

There are also some great eats choices just a bridge away at the Swan and Dolphin!!

Enjoy the streetmosphere performer/s in the evening. If you don't mind alcohol, take in Jellyrolls piano bar.
:thumbsup2

We loved it so very much that we purchased 250 DVC points to stay there a week after our trip, so be careful! :rotfl2:

Seriously, we absolutely loved this resort. We had a room overlooking the quiet pool and community hall, and we could see some of the Fantasmic fireworks from our room.

The walk to Epcot was glorious! And entering through the IG is so peaceful and relaxing!!! We never took the boats to either Epcot or DHS because we liked the walk, but they seemed to run very frequently.

The buskers (street entertainers) are phenomenal. Fun, funny, just all around awesome. DD5 still talks about a few of them, and she was captivated by them every night.

The Boardwalk Bakery has great breakfast pastries for snack credits. Seashore Sweets has lots of fun candy and ice cream for later.

The surrey bikes are fun to ride, although MUCH harder to pedal than I was expecting. Quite a workout going up the hills, although the fact that DW and I were carrying two kids probably didn't help.

The Luna Park Pool is a lot of fun and not as crazy busy as some of the other pools in WDW.

All in all just a wonderful place to relax and enjoy WDW. Have fun!!!

In the Real Estate game you always hear Location Location Location and BWV is the definition of that! Your are in the middle of so much, GREAT Restaurants, Entertainment and Atmosphere! You are minutes from a relaxing walk to EPCOT or DHS and if its too hot or raining or whatever just a short "Friendship" ride away. The evening activities on the Boardwalk itself is fun for kids and Adults alike.
Check out the sticky on this Board to see EXCELLENT pictures of BWV as well as all the DVC villa's.... No woriies you'll have a GREAT time...Shawnpirate:

We'll definitely have to try Jellyrolls - that is one place I haven't checked out yet!

Thanks - it's going on our "list"! :thumbsup2

BWV is a GREAT resort. Between BCV and BWV, they are our two favorite resorts. Love the restaurants, the bakery, entertainment (the street entertainers that come out at night, Jellyrolls and Dueling Pianos), decor and the proximity to EPCOT and DHS. Being able to just watch Illuminations or that last stop at the Rose & Crown and walk over the bridge to "get home" is fantastic. No waiting in line for a bus. Also, when you want to go back to your resort for a bit there is no walking to the front of the park, taking a bus and then returning. There are also the Friendships boats right in front of the resort for DHS and EPCOT. Never did the walk to DHS but it is right along the canal.

Besides Luna pool, there is a quiet pool. Hardly anyone ever in it. You can pick up a drink, head behind Luna pool and go to your left by the community hall. Big pool, relaxing.

Short walk to Fantasia Gardens for mini-golf and 5 minute walk to Swan & Dolphins for more of a selection of restaurants.

We love the rooms overlooking the green - especially on the higher floors. They are the same points as the pool/garden view and you can see the lake, part of the boardwalk and it is not noisy at all. We always request it through Member Services as they go fast. So far, they have been able to accomodate us. DH and I don't need much when we go so we do get a studio also.

Have a great time. Sounds like fun!
