Boardwalk Villas - Studios 3 adults, 2 kids.... are we crazy?

Your kids being young will help.

We spent four nights in the studio half of our 2br at BWV with 2 adults and 2 teens (I gave our guests the master because it's the only way the bed situation worked) and I was ready to get the hell out of there when we moved over to BLT. I felt like there was luggage/backpacks/clothes just everywhere. But we are used to having the entire 2br for the four of us and I never look at the mess my kids are creating in the studio half :rolleyes1.

GF rooms are 440 sq. ft.

BWV studios are 359 sq. ft. and they include a kitchenette in that space.

That's big difference in the size of the room. Only you can judge whether your family can tolerate sleeping together in such close quarters. Just know that it will be a much smaller space than what you got at GF.

Just to note that some of the extra space in the vgf studio is wasted on an additional bathroom, though I might sound great with an extra one imo it’s waste of space and the extra space would have been better used as free space in the unit.

Too crowded, IMO. Five people sharing one bathroom...and not even a split bathroom...is not a vacation that I would care to take. But if you're fine with squeezing in a tight space in order to save money, that's your call.
Too crowded imo also.::yes:: Curious, why post after you have invited Mom and already asked her? Shouldn't you do research before booking on rented points? Renting points is a transaction that should be researched thoroughly before as is restrictive in terms of cancellation as well as being risky to begin with. :scratchin

I was referring to GF hotel rooms (440 sq. ft.), not the VGF studios which are 374 sq. ft. When the OP mentioned staying at GF with 5 in a room, I assumed that she was talking about hotel rooms because she also mentioned that this next visitwill be her first time staying DVC.

Sorry then I misunderstood you. :-)

If the purpose is to save money, then booking a larger room type will kill that plan. There are certain family members that I wouldn't even share a grand villa with, while other family members are more easy going and sharing a studio would be fine. Have a great trip and let us know how it works out!

We did and it was fine! DH, my mom, myself and our two kids- roughly 10 and 7 at the time did a split stay at BWI studio and Poly Studio. Sure there were times we wanted space so we went to the pool, walked the boardwalk, etc.

Because in my post I was asking if I should book her a room at the Swan and Dolphin. And yes, we thoroughly researched before renting the points, I'm not regretting our decision but I'm human, and am having second thoughts.

Thanks... after talking to my family again I think we'll be fine and after reading this you've helped me feel better! Thanks!
