Boardwalk Villas Noisier?

I really want an Epcot location for an upcoming 3 night stay over Mother's Day weekend because we'll be attending the Flower festival and Mother's Day Brunch at Epcot (if we go, since I haven't booked airline tickets yet) -- my mother will be turning 60 on Mother's Day so this is a very special occasion. BCV, our first choice, only has 2BR rooms available for two nights, so I'm waitlisted on the third night. I just learned that BWV has 2BRs available for all three nights (preferred view only). I previously ruled out BWV because we don't really like the resort -- we found it too dark and the long dimly lighted hallways didn't do much for us during our tour. But now I'm getting desperate since this is a May trip! I'm hesitant about booking that and cancelling our BVC ressie because I am concerned that we'll end up with a low floor so our unit would be noisy at night with all the activity around the Boardwalk area -- my baby sleeps starting at 8 pm. But I have no experience with BWV so I don't know if the windows are really soundproof. If we end up with a low floor unit, would it be noisy? Or should I just keep waiting for that single night at BCV to open up.

I'm guessing by preferred view this late they are talking non-boardwalk view. The BW View rooms can be noisy. The non-BW view rooms aren't going to be any noisier than any other room overlooking a pool with Fantasmic and Illuminations happening half a mile away.

You might ask to be not near Luna Park. That will help

We just returned from a preferred pool view at the BWV over Easter weekend for DH's b-day and the only noise we heard was Fantasmic (we didn't mind and enjoyed seeing the fireworks). We didn't think the halls were dimly lit at all even when returning at 1 AM Easter night. We absolutely loved our stay and just wish it could have been longer!

I know you said you wanted an Epcot location but OKW is really quiet and it's really not far from epcot. Just take the buses or drive there if you have a car. It is nice to walk there though from BCV or BWV.

OKW can be loud if you get a building that near the Bonnet Creek (I think that's the road's name). we had one there and sitting on the patio all you heard were busses and trucks wizzing by.

The vast majority of the rooms at the BWV's are as quiet as any DVC room. Most BWV rooms do not look out onto the Boardwalk itself. And the only time the Boardwalk can get noisy is when the clubs are getting out late at night (especially on crowded weekends). The hallways are long (can't agree with you about dark though) but the BWV being noisy is for the most part a myth.

I don't know about BWV and I know you said you wanted an EPCOT area place, but one of the most impressive things to me about SSR was opening and closing the doors (both from the hall and on the balconies). Could not hear a peep outside.

I have the opposite concerns. I have two small boys and hate for them to disturb other guests while we are walking down the halls, so I was THRILLED to not hear a thing outside!
