I'm looking at a map of the resort, and I can see where the Villas are. How can I take a guess at where we might be if we have a ONE BEDROOM villa booked? Pool/Garden view?
The 1 bedrooms are scattered throughout the resort. No way to predict ahed of time where yours will be - except that it will be in hte Pool/Garden category.
The P/G villas overlooking the Village Green are all studios.
Right - I have a copy of this map. Thank you. Was hoping to know more specifically where the one bedrooms are located. Like the map that I have for the Grand Californian, shows where all the studios, 1bdrm, 2bdrm's etc all are .

Yes, those are all the pool/garden views. Understand that 1BRs can come in two forms, dedicated 1BRs which can be only a 1BR, and a lock-off, meaning it is connected to a studio and can be either a 2BR or separate studio and 1BR. As a result, 1BRs are virtually in every location in the resort on every floor, except for the courtyard pool/garden view which has only dedicated studios.
if you want pool view, you probably should not ask for specific rooms which are requests highly likely not to be met. (And be aware their back-up to being unable to meet a location request is to simply send you anywhere available with no attempt to come close to your location request.) Better is to ask for view of Luna Park pool area or Quiet Pool area and best to also request high floor.
Good tips - thank you. Maybe I'll call tomorrow and see what they can note on file for me. Last question - what is the difference between the pools/pool areas?
Luna Park pool is the main pool with the large clown slide, a little kids pool and play area, Jacuzzi, food and bar house and is an active place during the late morning through early evening hours. The quiet pool fits its name as it just a decent size but not large pool with no extras (although there is a jacuzzi in the area). Community Hall is also in that area but it is not close to any rooms. The quiet pool seldom has a lot of people in or around it and the area is one of the quietest areas at BWV. Luna Park rooms are closer to elevator and lobby while quiet pool area has rooms that are farthest from the elevator and lobby.
If you were to request a specific villa, you are limiting yourself. The room assigners will see your villa request, and see that that particular villa isn't going to be available for you. So, they just give you any old villa. If you request a view of Luna Park, then it gives them leeway. Same for the quiet pool/Community Hall view.
As you've already been told, Luna Park is the main pool area...it can be noisy during the warmer months, especially during the day. The quiet pool area is a lot more subdued. I actually like that area, although the walks to the villas with that view can be on the long side!
Also remember that requests are requests. We are BWV owners, love the resort, but in our dozen years of ownership have only had a request met once.
(And if you want the pool because of little kids trying to grow gills that can take stairs, a low floor is really convenient - no elevators involved. Higher floors will be quieter. Although one of the other problems with BWV is both of the pools are surrounded on three sides by buildings - making for a fairly noisy resort. )
