Hi all

Staying at the BWV in a few short weeks!!!

Anyway's, thinking about getting the refillable mugs, but I am wondering how much of a trek it will be in the morning to go and fill them up?

Or, is it just better to use your in room coffee maker?
And if so, where do you get more coffee for the in-room coffe maker?

Thanks!!

It could be a substantial hike to fill that mug, depending upon where your room is located. I'd make my first cup right there in the room.

You can either bring the coffee with you, or purchase it in the BWV store or offsite. You can also buy more of the "one pot" packages from housekeeping. I think they are $3. You get one set up when you check-in and another on trash & tidy and/or full cleaning days.

Being coffee snobs and finding most coffee at WDW unacceptable, we throw our own half pound of Peaberry in our luggage. You will also need Mr. Coffee basket filters - large ones in a kitchen, small ones in a studio.

We usually throw a package of the Maxwell House Filter Paks into our luggage. It may not be as good as Peaberry, but it certainly beats the sludge they serve as coffee anywhere around WDW. PamOKW is certainly correct, you could have a pretty significant morning hike just trying to get a cup of coffee.

Have a great trip...

Bring your own and use the coffeemaker! The coffee will be ready long before you get back from the Bakery or the Bellvue Lounge (if either is even open when you need the stuff, LOL).

I will drink Disney coffee if I absolutely have to, but it is NOT GOOD!

Also, the mugs only hold about 12 ounces. NOT ENOUGH! I require at least a bucket every morning, even at Disney, doesn't everyone? ;)

It would be torture to have to traipse back and forth in those "interminably long" hallways in my jammies just to fill up the coffee mug!! :rotfl2:

So again I say "Bring your own and use the coffeemaker"!

JMHO. YMMV. :teeth:

I SO agree with everything CarolMN says... the coffee at Disney is just terrible, not to mention the mugs are just TOO small... To walk back & forth to refill the mug just isn't worth it... You can buy half & half over at the BCV store by the way... I'm not sure if the BW store carries it.. last time we had to get it at BC though...

Oh, the only two places I've had good coffee at Disney were in the Concierge lounge at AKL & the actual Kona coffee at the Kona Cafe... the Kona blend isn't very good either IMHO....

I probably couldn't find the doorknob to get out and go after coffee - if I didn't have coffee first. We take our own Starbucks and filters (flat bottom kind) and make it in the villa. I set it up the night before.

My husband has learned it's cheaper to take our own coffee with us. If half-way drinkable coffee isn't to hand immediately, I'd be on the phone to BWV room service, yelling "Coffee! Stat!" Even the room service coffee would be better than the pathetic little filter packet provided in the room. I love DVC! But the room coffee...ick.

I am not a coffee drinker but my mom and sister always say how WDW coffee is aweful. So yes take some of your favorite with you , doesn't take up much space!!!

We take our stainless steel thermal french press -- most of the time we'll stop at a grocery store or coffee shop and pick up some coffee rather than bringing the coffee with us. There's no way I would rely on the coffee available at Disney -- I would drink it if I there were no other choices, but it's not a favorite -- I'd rather start my day with Diet Coke/Pepsi

Just a clarification please. Are the coffee makers in a studio the same size as you would find in a hotel room (4/5 cups)?

While I am not 100% certain, I think the coffee pot in the studio was a full sized one the last time I was there(two weeks ago!). I need coffee in order to see anything in the morning, so I am not sure about this...by the way, I bring my Gevalia coffee with me. I like strong coffee, but hair on my chest?? No thanks, that's why I usually avoid Disney's stuff. :thumbsup2

If you find the smaller coffeemaker (4 cup) in your studio and want the larger size (10-12 cup), just call housekeeping. They will bring you the larger one.

Best wishes -

Someone else mentioned Kona coffee & the coffee at Animal Kingdom Lodge (which is Kenyan AA)! We love both! You can buy Kona coffee at the Polynesian at the coffee stand in front of Kona Cafe and Kenyan coffee at Mara foodcourt by the pool at AKL. We always pick up a bag of one of these coffees on our first day of vacation, and then make our own morning coffee in the room. You just need to pack your own filters or buy a box at the Screen Door General Store on the Boardwalk. Have a great vacation!

It's a nice walk to the bakery.

It is a nice walk to the bakery, but there is also the issue of a long line out the door of people trying to fill their mugs during busy times. By all means bring your own coffee and filters. If you are like me, you will want your first cup as soon as you roll out of bed and it will be much better with your own coffee. :teeth:

If you buy your coffee at Publix, I would avoid their store brand beans. When I tried their breakfast blend. It was awful. I think the beans were stale. :(
