We've never stayed at the boardwalk and we were thinking perhaps of staying there...not sure when though. What is the difference in the views?

I saw there is a "boardwalk view", a "preferred view" and a "standard view". What's the difference (besides points)? We would be staying in a studio (since it would be just DH & me.

Pics would be nice too. :)

Thanks in advance!

Boardwalk views are of the Boardwalk. Standard views are of the parking lot, bus front of building, and some grassy areas. Preferred views are everything else.

DH's dream vacation is at the Boardwalk with the boardwalk view; I also like it, as I'm a people watcher. We've never had a standard view. We'll be going soon and have a garden/pool view. We had that the very first trip to BWV, and I actually loved it. It was the week after Thanksgiving and we had Christmas lights up around our sliding doors, and I loved just sitting out on the balcony watching the friendship boats go by. *sigh* :cloud9:

We had a 2 bedroom lock-off with a Boardwalk view back in Sept. We were on the 3rd floor and view was spectacular. We could even see the fireworks from illuminations! Our room was 2 floors above the DVC model. If you have the points for a boardwalk view, book it! :thumbsup2 Here are a few pics:

Do note that the Boardwalk View is only about 20% of the resort. Standard View is another 20% of the resort. The majority of the resort is preferred view. Standard View usually books first - and often (but not always) before the seven month window opens because its is such a great value. Boardwalk View usually books next - often not always by the seven month window because the view is really nice. A lot of BW owners own specifically to get the Standard View or Boardwalk View rooms.

When we go, we generally try for the Standard View - views aren't bad and stretches points. If that isn't available, or if we have guests, we book the Boardwalk View. Because we travel over Food and Wine, when the Boardwalk books quickly, I always have myself prepared to stay preferred view unless I call day by day at eleven months so I'm not disappointed if the other two views aren't available. We've only had a preferred view once - when my husband decided to take a trip with only about eight months notice.
