We usually request and always have been able to get a Boardwalk view room in the Crest of the Wave building (which we love) but it is very far from the elevator. This trip a few have mobility issues and would like to be closer to the lobby/elevator but do not want a room with a closed balcony wall.

What should I request from member services that would give us a chance at a good balcony view? Are there any close to the elevators?

Thanks for your help!

See this diagram of BW view villas: https://www.disboards.com/media/bwv-boardwalk-view.62896/. Unfortunately, the 2BR nearest the elevator are on 2nd floor, which has the solid balcony railings. The open balconies are on upper floors. I’d request 1) near elevator 2) high floor and hope to get one over the former Big River Grill location.

There are more open balconies than closed, so you're a little more likely to get open ones...though note that at least 6 of the solid balcony rooms are the ones closest to the elevator on the 2nd and 5th floors. In the 2nd section over the clothing store - closed balconies are on 2. In the the last section over the old Big River, the solid balconies on the 2nd and 5th floor, but the villas on the middle floors between those have overhanging roofs and are set back, but the balconies themselves are slatted rather than solid.

Thank you both! This really puts it in perspective. I wonder where that 2 bedroom is with only 2 balconies? We had that one once with no living room balcony and it was very disappointing as we wanted to hang on the LR balcony while others went to bed.
