Boardwalk to California Grill in a Power Chair

We will be staying at BWV and for the first time I will be using a Power Chair. Also the first time without my own transport. In the past have always driven from whatever DVC resort we were stayiing.
What are my options ?
Are there any private transporters to load a power Chair?
I know I could take a Disney bus to MK and catch the Monorail but I was told that you could not get off at the Contempoary in a power chair.

Advice needed.

It used to be that there was only an escalator from the monorail to the floor that had elevators, but that is no longer true and has not been true for some time as there is now an elevator at the monorail station at the Contemporary Resort. You should be able to take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then just use the walking path from where the bus lets you off to go to the Contemporary Resort.

Or roll through Epcot and get on the monorail at the front of the park and take that to the Ticket and Transportation Center and then switch to the resort monorail.

I know that there are about a half dozen accessible taxis in the Orlando area, but they normally are hard to get (and, as any other taxi, expensive).

About ten years ago they put an elevator into the Contemporary from the 4th floor up to to monorail platform, so that in itself is not a problem.

You might check with Member Services, or with the BWI/BWV Transporation Coordinator one you have checked in, to see if Disney will provide you with direct transportation; I know they have a fair number of accessible vans.

Im pretty sure we did get off at the contemporaty in a power chair. There is an elevator we took down.

Old, old information.

They put in an elevator to the Contemporary monorail platform several years ago, so you can get off there now with a powerchair. Bus to MK, then monorail to Contemporary will work OK, though riding your powerchair on the path from MK to Contemporary would almost certainly be faster.

Been there, done that, didn't even think about it. This was last september, so YES! You can go to the Contemporary with a PC and get off the monorail, including when you're travelling solo. Just let the CM know you'll want to leave the monorail at the cont and they will have the ramp waiting for you to be able to get off.

I agree! It's not any more of a hassle than for an able bodied person to get from BW to Contemporary. I'd take the monorail from MK as Contemporary is the first stop. Disney won't provide private direct transportation unless there's been some kind of a problem.---Kathy

I have still seen guidebooks that say the monorail station at Contemporary is not wheelchair accessible at all, but that's really outdated information, as other posters mentioned.
I don't think I have any pictures, but we took the monorail to Contemporary and got off (and back on) with DD in her wheelchair.

Yep we have also been off and on the monorail there with DD in her power chair. We had dinner with Chef Mickey! Smooth sailin.... no issues at all.

You could also go from BWV to MGM's bus stops, and hop on the bus to the Contemporary.
