I read on this post several times that Boardwalk is testing out the magic bands. Does anyone know to what extent. I will be at boardwalk next week. We already can get them by turning I our annual pass. Has anyone heard how they are "testing" this?

You can't actually get the bands when you turn in your pass just the new RFID card. I haven't heard on what extent they are testing the bands but they are for sure testing at the boardwalk.

We just checked-out yesterday from a 4-day stay at BWV and we had the regular KTTW cards (we're DVC members but not AP holders). Not sure if the BWI has switched to Magic Bands but I'm thinking not because I didn't see anyone there wearing them.

Was anyone testing anything while you were there? Did they ask you to participate?

It has been said several times that testing would _start_ at BWI. As far as anyone knows, testing has been delayed indefinitely.

Please, tell me why anyone would care? I'm serious (not being negative this time). I don't get it.

Some people are eager to try out the new tech. Even if it means limiting themselves, or at least not realizing it would limit them*.

* Depending on announced features vs. reality.

No testing of Magic Bands at BW as far as I saw, although all retail locations are using the the new 'tap' system where you simply wave your KTTW card over the device and then punch in your PIN code to pay.

They do have separate lines at the theme parks for guests with Magic Bands and quite a few people were using them but I don't know if that's only AP holders or any other resort guests.

As far as I know, that's ALL resort guests and AP holders who have either received new cards or turned in their old ones. I believe all resorts now have RFID.

I haven't seen definitively if new MYW tickets at the ticket booths are RFID yet.

I'm okay with the indefinite suspension, but it does make me a little nervous not knowing which way will be in effect for our trip.

I want to know because I dread the change and I am going next week and staying at the boardwalk. I don't mind them "testing" however, I do not want to have to. So, yes I am curious.
