Boardwalk Standard View Studio advice?

I was finally able to find a standard view studio at Boardwalk and it will be our first stay. Are there any alternate layout studios to request or avoid due to layout? I know there are not many standard views and always request a high floor, any other requests that you would recommend to first timers at Boardwalk like closer to parking lot, bus, etc? Thanks in advance!

There are multiple stairs but only one set of elevators. If you don't want to climb the stairs or walk long hallways after getting to the hotel, ask to be located near the elevator. If you want a quiet location, don't mind the stairs and long hallways, ask for a view of the tennis courts.

High floor is a good request. A request for close to elevator or close to lobby are basically the same request. The only possible problem with getting that request granted is your sensitivity to some noise, as it puts you over the lobby area where cars are constantly arriving and baggage from arrivals is being moved on baggage carts. The tennis court area is a good request because you can actually get a decent view looking over the channel that leads to Hollywood Studios and see Studios in the distance, but it does put you far from the elevator and the lobby.

Thanks-I think a room near the tennis courts would work for us if we could use the stairs and just need one elevator run for luggage. Do all studios sleep 5 or are there any odd configurations to be aware of? There are only 3 of us but we like having our own sleeping area and the trundle works great.
How is parking at Boardwalk? We usually bring a folding wagon to get everything to the room in one trip, but dread some parking lot walks more than others!

All BWV studios sleep 5.

Parking is pretty bad. It certainly is not convenient. The lot closest to the hotel is reserved for convention attendees and valet parking. It's a bit of a trek to get you car from the regular lot. There's also an issue with non-resort guests parking there so that they can get into Epcot and HS without paying for parking. It can be hard to find a parking spot sometimes. Boardwalk can be very lax in enforcing parking rules.

We usually drop off luggage and passengers at the port cochere and the driver then goes in search of a parking spot. If we are feeling rich we valet park for just that one time.

I agree with every word!

Being near the tennis courts puts you near the corner stairs - down those, and you’re a short walk across the porte cochere to the bus stop. At the other end of that corridor are the stairs that drop you off onto the walkway halfway to DHS. It’s kind of a hike to the elevators, but if you don’t want to walk all the way to Epcot you can take stairs down to the walkway, take the bridge across to Swan & Dolphin, and catch the boat there.
