Fortunately they did not remove them in this recent refurbishment. Unfortunately, the owners don't have a say so who knows what will happen during the next refurbishment, or even when that next refurb will be done. For now, we got to keep them and the ceiling fans as well, another feature of the DVC rooms that we enjoy that seem to be disappearing during refurbishments.

I think when someone asked they got the standard "due to member requests".

I was thinking for cleaning purposes or too many balloons got caught in them.
I ma sure it is another cost cutting measure

Wow, this is the first time I have seen the villas since renovation. It appears they have removed all the Boardwalk theming. How sad.

That's the new trend. Theme the outside of the resort, but plain vanilla the guest rooms.

Not a good trend. The theming is why our family kept coming back to WDW and why we bought into DVC. Parks are, for us, secondary but the fantasy of staying at Yellowstone while in FL was awesome, ditto, pretending we were staying at a Beach Club or again, pretending we were staying at a New Jersey Broadwalk hotel....

I just stayed in a studio and liked the new updates except the mirror over the vanity. Personal taste thought it was tacky. But overall I liked the simple clean look.
