Just got back from a 5 night stay at the Boardwalk.....here is a short review:

Tried checking in at 11:30 am...the room was not ready until 3:45

Stayed in a Studio Pool view room #2058. We very much liked the location...close to the Boardwalk/Transportation.

The room was in definite need of help. The armoire with the TV was in terrible shape. 1 door was hanging by a thread...I was told "leave the doors open and don't touch them" by maintenance. Faucet in tub leaked continuously...overall the room felt over-used.

We will be trying a 2 bedroom next, and hopefully we will have a bit nicer room.

Got our first Owner's Locker....WOW! What great service. We were definitely pleased.

Used Wegoshop for grocery delivery and were equally pleased.

Thanks for the review. Our 2 bd was in great shape, hope yours will be too.
Thanks for the wegoshop info. I think that' I'll try them in November.

I'm sorry to hear about your room. We've stayed at a 2 BR and a 1 BR at BWV and both rooms were fine. We definitely could see some wear and tear, but everything was in good working order. Hopefully the room you had will get some TLC soon and that you'll get a good 2 BR next time! The BWV have such a fantastic location!

Sorry you were dissapointed. We just got back from a stay in a 2 bedroom and everything was in great shape (room 2004/2006). It was one of those long hallway walks - maybe prior residents were too tired to break anything!:rotfl:

That is funny, we checked into room 3008 (studio prefered view of canal and Swan/Dolphin) and our armoire was also broken. One drawer was broken and one door where the TV is was also broken. Maintance arrived quickly and was able to fix the drawer quickly, took lots of trys, but they were also able to fix the door to the TV. It was the only problem with the room. Had a great week.

We are new DVC owners and are staying at our home resort..BWV..for the first time this Thanksgiving. :woohoo: I've read some reviews lately that are making me extremely nervous about the BWV's condition. Should I be? :scared:

Nope. All the DVC rooms, regardless of resort, will undergo rehab every so many years. Sounds like this was just one of those rooms that is still on the list. Disney pumps a lot of guests through these rooms, DVC or otherwise, and they go through a lot of wear and tear. But Disney will ensure that, in general, the rooms are kept in good shape. However, there's always going to be a small percentage of rooms that are in need of being next on the list.

Thank you for the reassurance! :thumbsup2 I know there will be some wear and tear...but to read some trip reports...it sounds as if the place is falling down. Since this is our first trip as DVC Members...I kinda wanted the DH to "love" BWV  (if you know what I mean)....let me get one trip under my belt before something goes wrong. :rolleyes1

even with a not so fabulous room...we really loved the location of BWV. I wouldn't hesitate staying there again.... hopefully we will get one of the spruced up rooms next time. Next stop for us is VWL in December. (Crossing my fingers as we are getting 2 - 2BR. I would be sad if those rooms weren't in good shape.
