We will be staying at the BWI for the first time. Most of our meals will probably be at the parks or at resorts but if we decide to eat on the boardwalk what options do we have? Are there any quick service or snack DDP options on the boardwalk? Also any recommendation for restuarants not to miss? I will be with my DH and two finicky kids (9 & 8).

There are very few quick service options in the Boardwalk area. These are: the Boardwalk Bakery, continental breakfast at the Bellevue Lounge (breakfast only), Hurricane Hanna's at the Yacht/Beach Club (lunch only) and the Beach Club Marketplace. Everything else is TS or does not accept the dining plan.

Best option for quick service in that area is to walk into Epcot and eat in the World Showcase, if you have a ticket that will permit that.

If you are eating on the BW try Spoodles. The food is delicious and the scenery on the BW is not to be missed! They have a pretty good variety of food so everyone can find something they like!

For the information of the OP who asked about quick service restaurants: Spoodles is a table service.

we stayed at the BW twice this last year- it IS a hard resort to use your DDP credits at! You can use snack credits at the BAkery and the Candy shop-we used a quick service credit at the bakery once for a nice fruit plate and drink, and I think a dessert. I found it a bit frustrating because they do have a stand on the boardwalk that sells hot dogs, corn dogs and the like but you HAVE to use cash. There is also a funnel cake kiosk but again, no DDP accepted. I believe there is also a pizza window at Spoodles where you can get a slice to go, but AGAIN, no DDP accepted. But did come in handy for a pinch if your kids are really hungry!

We just got back last night from 5 nights at the BWI.

I wish I knew the first night about the bakery - they have huge sandwiches (one is definitely enough for 2 people). You get that plus chips, a drink, and dessert (they are wonderful pastries!) for one CS credit. If you want to stay right there, I highly recommend it.

Otherwise, you are so close to Epcot, with many other choices.

I did buy my son a few hot dogs from the cart - they are only $3.50 (cash only) and he loved their onion rings! You have to pay out of pocket, but it was a nice option.

We just came back from 7 nights at the BWV and spent several CS and snack credits at the bakery. The CS will get you a HUGE sandwich (I always opted for the tomato and mozzarella), a drink and one of many great bakery items... well worth the trip. We have 2 very picky eaters and the Bakery is one of their favorites.
