BoardWalk Resorts Sharing Bus With YC/BC & S/D??

We've stayed at the Swan and Dolphin several times, sharing a bus with YC/BC about half the time and rarely with BoardWalk. We'll be staying at BWV for 9 days in March, 2007 and I'm interested in whether BW ever gets its own bus or if it usually shares. In the event our room borders the canal to MGM, might it be wise to hike over to Swan and hop that bus to MK and AK?

Bill,
We have never seen the Boardwalk with it's own bus. I have seen S&D busses, and Y&B Club busses, but never just a BW bus. We have been staying at the Epcot area resorts for the past few visits, but the BW always seems to be combined with some other resort.
And yes, we too have walked over between Swan and BW on occassion. Have went over early for a trip to the park, and gotten off there and walked back to the BW room in the evening. That part was faster than waiting for the bus to makes the full 5 resort rounds.
Hope that helps some.

Every time we have stayed at BWV, we have shared buses with S/D. Sometimes also with YC/BC but that was usually during the slower times of day..midday and such. YC/BC seem to have their own bus for the busier times.
We found that the bus would stop at BW, then head off to the S/D and then to the park. At least we got to get on first, and get off first. Never had a problem getting a seat either.

The bus seems to start at the BW in the am and drops off last in the afternoon. Coming from the parks we generally get off at the Swan and walk over it is always much faster.

Arggh, just returned from BWV and most of the buses were fine EXCEPT the one to AK. Imagine one bus for S/D, BWV, YC & BC for AK AND Blizzard Beach during spring break.

When we stayed at the BW we shared a bus for AK (arrived empty @ BW), but made no other stops for MK. Both bus trips were to arrive at those parks at opening. We did not take the busses to any other location.

In Feb 06 the BW bus was shared with the s/d only to the AK (which also went to Blizzard Beach) and MK.

However, on the way back they stopped at the y/bc too. But they didn't pick anyone up at the y/bc on the way to AK-- However, we walk over to the swan and caught the bus there so maybe the s/d were the last stops ??

Considering that the BWV and BWI are deluxe accomadations, I expected better bus service.

Another thing, its also better to catch the boat to MGM at the S/D because that's the last stop going to MGM and the 1st stop coming from MGM. The boat stops at the Y/BC before heading over to the BW which takes about another 10 minutes.

We stayed at Beach Club last week and experienced the same frustration on the day we went to AK. All those resorts sharing a bus, especially at a peak time, is unacceptable. It's hard to be in a huge long line and look around at short lines bound for only one resort. :sad2:

We were glad to see that MK was still split. I believe that BC, YC, and Boardwalk shared buses, while Swan and Dolphin shared a bus too.

We are DVC members at the BWV and bus transportation has been our biggest complaint since day one. There never seems to be a "dedicated" route for the these resorts. Sometimes the bus will pick up only at the BW and then at the S/D. Other times, it will stop at all of the resorts which is a grand total of seven on one bus (BWI, BWV, Swan, Dolphin, YC, BC, BCV). Even at the Value resorts the buses make less stops.
We have found that the transportation is OK to the MK but spotty on the return. AK is a nightmare and we usually just drive there. With AK you have the additional stop at Blizzard Beach and on the return trip, you usually stop at all of the hotels.
If you find yourself on a bus making all of the stops, it is much quicker to get off at the Swan and walk across the bridge to the BW. You will save yourself about 10-15 minutes.
In regards to the boats to MGM, if you miss it at BW and it hasn't reached the YC/BC, you can walk over to the S/D and pick it up there. If it is leaving the YC/BC. you probably won't make it. We usually take the walkway to MGM along the canal. It is about a 10-15 minute walk. At closing, you can usually walk back quicker to the BW then to wait in the line for the boat.

Whenever we've taken the buses from any of these resorts, on dropoff, we've gotten out at the first stop and walked to our resort. It is usually much faster. On pickup, unless we know that we are the last stop it usually isn't a hassle to wait. Sometimes, though, if you know that the BW will be the last stop, it might be wise to go to another resort that has an earlier pickup to be sure you get a seat. It can get crowded.

On the flip side of that, you have easy access to two of the four parks by foot or boat. When you're staying at the villas, be sure to take advantage of the stairwell that drops you right off at the quiet pool which is a hop skip and a jump halfway down the path to MGM. Cuts your trip in half and gets you to MGM about 5 minutes faster.

We also discovered that taking the monorail from Epcot to MK is great! You can walk through WS, grab a beer and head to the front of Epcot, out the exit and hop on the monorail! Very scenic!
