Does anyone know if it would be worth it to get a Boardwalk view during March 28-April 8? I have heard they are renovating the front and wasn't sure exactly how many rooms were going to be available for Boardwalk View. Just wanted some opinions and facts about it. Thanks

I don't know the answer to your question, but I would be curious too. I am planning a trip for 01/03. I am looking at staying at BW. This is our first trip to WDW since mid-late 80's. Since you have stayed at BW, can you give me any feedback etc. I am looking to book 4 rooms; 2-studios and 2-1 bedrooms. Our group is 8 adults and 5 kids (9yr, 4yr, 2-3yr, 1 yr). Thanks for any do's and don'ts about BW.

 :bounce: :p :pinkbounc

Over the next 18 months or so it could be difficult for non-DVC members to get rooms at BWV as they will be taking blocks out for rehab.

2-studios and 2-1 bedrooms

I'm not sure if you intentionally want to stay in seperate accomodations, but you could get the same effect by booking 2 2-bedrooms. A 2-bedroom is made up by opening a connecting door between the studio and 1-bedroom.

If I can't get a reservation at BW, any suggestions on a 2nd choice?? I am looking at getting 4 rooms. Probably 2 studio type and 2 - 1bedroom type. The kids in our group are 9yr, 4yr, 2-3yr, and 1 yr.

Thanks for any help!!

Have you stayed in a 2-bedroom?? Grandma & Grandpa are paying for this trip. It will be them, and adult couple, and 2 families with a total of 5 kids. Grandpa thought it would make for a better trip if we all had separate rooms so we didn't get on each other's nerves. I know it would be more cost effective, but I didn't know how much room there was. I think that have some alone/quiet time is an important part of this trip to him. He is concerned that being together day and night without any separation, could make for some tension!!

Any thoughts would be great!!
Thanks!

I had already suggested VWL, you might also look into BCV.

If you get the 2 bedrooms, it's just like getting 2/ 1 bedrooms and 2 studios but the 2 bedroom will have a door connecting the 1 bedroom to the studio that can be locked or left unlocked.

Might work out better if someone is going to sit with the kids while someone else goes out at night.

There's no such room category as "boardwalk view". At BWV, for DVC members there is standard and preferred view. Standard view is along the front driveway and across from the tennis courts. Preferred view is boardwalk, main pool, quiet pool & Swan/Dolphin Canal. If you are not using points, then all rooms are considering standard, you could get anything. There is no guarantee of a boardwalk view for members or non-members. You can request it, but no guarantees. Only 20% of the rooms are Boardwalk view, include all 4 room sizes, and are supposed to be assigned by date of reservation. If you are talking about this year, you will be pretty far down the list if you haven't made a reservation yet.

At Boardwalk Inn, they have standard & water view. I believe water view also includes pool view.

It couldnt hurt to make the request! I wouldnt even consider NOT requesting what I want, even if there was only a slight chance of getting it! atleast you tried, and letting them know that you want a BW view, you might just get lucky!!!

you never know until you ask!!! :)
go ahead and request what you want, the worst that can happen is you don't get it, then you are no worse off then you were before!!!

I have had BW view, and Luna Park view, there is no question that the BW view is fantastic, but the other views are very nice too!

If you can't get a ressie at BWV, then try OKW, or VWL. someone suggested tryin the new BCV, but they don't open til August!

have fun!

Laura :)

I guess I will try for BWV first, then try VWL. Does BCV mean Beach Club Villas?? I am new to the world of Disney, so bear with me!! Someone suggested OKW--I heard that that resort is not the most accessable??? I saw on a map that it is near Downtown Disney.

I saw that there is a marathon in Jan 03. What is the date of the marathon?? Will that affect the number of visitors for that tiime of year?? We are currently looking at going 1/11/03-1/18/03.

Thanks!!

We went to WDW during the marathon week one year and it did not affect a thing. In fact it was kind of need to see some of the runners all dressed up in their favorite Disney charactor. It is a popular marathon because it is all flat and the runners can get good times to qualify for other marathons. The runners usually start running early morning like around 6am. You can catch broadcasts on your resort tv and see what park they will be running through and you can avoid that park if your worried. We went to one of the parks and did not see much because the runners had all run through but the ropes were up for them but it did not take up to much room. Have fun planning!! January is a great time of year to visit.:smooth:

Tha 2003 Marathon is set for 1/12/03. The BW will be full, a lot of Marathoners like to stay there. The marathon itself won't affect you at all, except for very early in the am on 1/12 if you are trying to get to an early am seating at Cindy's or something.
