Do they have tools by the pool at the boaldwalk?
Anyone returning for WDW recently.....how are the lines at the attractions?
Thanks

What do you mean by "tools" by the pool?

Yes, there are towels at the pool! Wasn't sure about tools. ;)

Sigh of relief here. For a second, I thought we had somebody really kinky on the board.:)

DW and I spent last week at BWV along with our adult DS. We had a great time.

In regards to the crowds, we generally found it to be less crowded than we experienced during a late-June visit in 1998, which I think would be a similar time period. We used FastPass for the popular attractions and found most others to have pretty short lines. We did see a number of large tour groups, but these tended to wait in the stand-by lines rather than using FP, so we were not affected too much by this. The BW itself was very quiet during the daytime and never overly crowded in the evenings, so I think overall the crowds are down from typical summer levels.

Although we had a rental car available and used it to go grocery shopping, to DD, and to WL, we used bus service to and from the MK and AK. I tracked the waiting times. Our longest wait was 8 minutes, shortest was 0. Twice we walked up and boarded a waiting bus, one time going to the MK and one time returning from MK to the BW, but the second time we had to wait about 5 minutes prior to the bus actually departing. I counted this as a 5 minute wait. Overall, our average wait time was less than 5 minutes for a total of 8 bus trips.

We ate at Artist Point on night and took the opportunity to walk around the WL and VWL. Very pretty and peaceful, but we're still more likely to stay at the BWV in the future and try for VB or HHI for get-away-from-it-all vacations. The convenience of walking or taking the boat to Epcot and MGM cannot be beat.

The weather was hot and humid, just like at home ;) . There did seem to be a pretty seasonal weather pattern, with afternoon thunder showers almost every day. Perhaps the drought is finally breaking. During our last summer visit in '98, the drought was quite serious and we had virtually no rain for the entire week. There were brush fire problems in many areas around WDW at that time. This year, we had rain just about every day, but it only disrupted our dining and/or park plans one night when too much rain coming down prevented a walk over to the YC for dinner at the Steakhouse. We went to Spoodles instead and were seated almost immediately without a PS (this was at 7:30 pm on Wednesday night). Other nights, the rain had stopped by the time we were heading out to dinner.

Not sure when you're going, but just FYI, the Luna Park pool will be closed for renovation 9/10-9/28.

I too just returned. Got home :( Saturday after spending 11 glorious days there.

I also found the crowds not to be as heavy as previously thought. Afternoons tended to be much heavier than the mornings. I only did one EE and that was to the MK. Other days we went to the parks on non-EE days and always got there for the 9am opening.

Buses - the longest wait was one morning to Blizzard Beach and that was 15 minutes.

Ah yes the weather; first couple of days (7/11-7/14) it was actually pleasant with the temps in the high 80's. Then the temp started to rise and by the end of lastweek we were in the 90's with the humidity. Rain every day mostly in the afternoon. Had 2 or 3 good down pours that lasted a little longer.

All in all it was wonderful and I can't wait to get back! :)

I called Disney to confirm that luna pool would be closed in september and they can't tell me if it will be or not? How did you find this out? We will be down in disney september 21-29. Will they let us pool hop to storm along bay?

thanks

marianne98m -

The Luna Park pool rehab dates were listed in the Spring 2001 Vacation Magic. There is an online version accessible via the Members Website. It says the pool will be closed September 10 -28. Maybe they will finish a little early - hope so!

In the past when a resort's main pool was not available, guests were allowed to use other resorts' pools. I'm sure you will be allowed to pool hop.

Enjoy your trip!

Carol
