Boardwalk parking question

If I'm eating dinner at the Boardwalk and don't want to use the valet, can I just self-park in the overflow lot on the other side of Epcot? From Google Earth it looks like there's an unmanned gate into and out of the overflow lot.

Thanks!

That's what we've done. I've got a DH who refuses to use valet parking.

Hmmm. If you mean the lot across the street from the resort, I thought that was an employee lot with card gate.

In front of the resort there are 2 lots - a self park and a valet lot. You drive up to the guard, show ID, tell them your dinner plan, pull ahead a bit and turn right into the self park lot.

Whenever my family and I have went to visit the Boardwalk we have parked in the lot to the left of the guard both, which is the farthest one away.

Ah, ok, if you turn off Buena Vista Dr. onto Epcot Resorts Blvd, you have the Boardwalk on your left and the Hess on your right. You can make a left to go to the guard booth, or you can go straight a little further on Epcot Resorts Blvd and a little further on the right it seems there's an entrance to a large parking lot.

I can remember a long time ago parking for dinner at the Boardwalk and the guard booth directed me to this large lot across the street (across Epcot Resorts Blvd).

If this is an employee lot, perhaps they were just very busy that night years ago and used the employee lot, and put the gates up permanently for the night (which is why I don't remember gates).

I would try the regular lot first. If it's closed, there will be a sign out front directing you across the street.

The lot across the street is both an employee lot, and an overflow lot. While there is a key activated gate, I've never seen the gate down. It's always been up when I've been there.

Like DebbieB says, there will be a sign. We've gone to the BW several times for dinner on a Friday evening and they wouldn't let us in to park. The sign directed us across the street to that employee/overflow lot.
