Can't decide.stayed at the contemporary last time and wanted to try something new. How tight would we be in a studio? We can stay longer in a studio but I'm sure the 1bedroom is much more comfortable. Any input would help.

In studios, only BLT concerns me for being too small with kids that age, BWV and BCV are a bit larger.

For some people, the BCV pool complex is too big and too busy for young kids , so I would lean BWV.

I will go the other way and say that BCV would have a much more interesting pool for the kids - especially the 4 year old. There is a sandbar in the shallow pool so both could play there. If it is too busy for you, you could also go over to the "quiet pool" which is much less busy.

We have never stayed at BCV, but we just checked it out last week. The pool area there looks more appropriate for older kids. The slide is huge and the entrance is out by the sidewalk passing by the resort. My 6 yo has always enjoyed the pool at BWV -- especially the slide.

I know if was not a choice, but the ultimate pool area for kids your age is Kidani. The little ones have a great time in the splash play area and the zero entry is great for 2 and 4 year olds. Plus, they have a "baby slide" for the little ones. Plus, the little ones love seeing the animals!

One drawback to BWV (and Kidani for that matter) is that there is not a good QS option for breakfast. That hasn't been an issue for us, since we usually have breakfast items in the room.

I would go with BWV.
IMO the pool area is way to spread out for young toddlers. Not relaxing....bridges to walk over....different sections.
Happy planning

We have a 2 year old and stayed at BCV in September- wasn't an issue at all! We've stayed there 3 times (other 2 times when our 10 & 8 yr olds were younger) and it's hands-down our favorite resort to stay when we are not hitting the parks.
One the 1st trip, we stayed in a Wheel-Chair Accessable studio and it was slightly larger (huge balcony). They asked if they could put us in there and we were fine with that- we now request that upon check in if they have them available!

I would pick BCV also. We loved getting right in the pool with the kids. I think I enjoy it just as much as them! They have a sandy beach too!
If you could swing it, I would get the one bedroom! Love having the full kitchen. We make our breakfast and lunch in then go out to dinner. The washer/dryer is great also. We pack a lot less that way!

Great advice.thanks. Was leaning toward boardwalk because my kids r so young. So now standard view (if I can get it)or preferred?is standard that bad?

I just read the last couple of posts and now I'm confused again! I can't decide ...there are positives to both. I like that the boardwalk has a playground and a kiddie pool and nightly entertainment...so at night I can just take a walk with the kids. And the beach club has the character breakfast, beaches and cream and the amazing pool. Tough choice. Which hotelhas nicer grounds? Christmas decor? I'm sure I will get around to both resorts. But it's my first dvc trip and I want to choose right...although something tells me it's Disney, you can't go wrong either way!!! Thanks everybody! I'm excited!i love planning Disney trips

Actually, your right . . . it's Disney, and you can't go wrong. With children your kid's ages, you may want to even consider a savanna view at AKV. Kids love watching the animals and the pool area at Kidani is amazing. The Christmas decorations at Jambo and Kidani are very nice.

As I said before, I have not had the pleasure of staying at BCV yet, but we hope to stay there soon (hopefully next summer). I have not seen either of the resorts at Christmas, but Disney does not usually disappoint. Availability may be the deciding factor if your planning on visiting this year during the holidays.

Boardwalk is gorgeous at Christmas! Both resorts are incredible but BWV is prettier at Christmas.
When we stay at BCV we just walk over to the Boardwalk for the activities and the bakery!

something to consider:
the big draw at the BCV is the pool. if you are going in december, it may be too cold to use it.
of course, the BWV kiddie pool would also be too cold.
at the BWV, the other "to do" options include community hall (crafts, ping pong, games, etc), nighttime street performers (magicians, etc), surrey bike rental, & carny games, various restaurants and food kiosks. of course anyone can visit the BW, but there is nothing like having it all within a few short minutes of your villa (especially nice if one child - or adult ;) - wants to sleep NOW, feels ill, etc).

i agree with others that AKV would also be a good choice. tho you cannot walk to any parks as with the BCV/BWV, the kids would probably love having exotic animals in their "backyard".

BUT.....if you are thinking about the end of this year, your choice will probably be determined by availability. nov/dec is a very popular time for DVC, and the smaller DVC resorts have very limited villas (especially any other than 1 bdrms)/nights available long before the 7 month mark.
as far as villa size: obviously a 1 bdrm, with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, 2 TVs, and separate living room would be best. the little ones can nap while others watch TV, the full size fridge can be invaluable for that many ppl, and laundry is much easier as well as less time-consuming.

good luck!

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with either. Both are within a short walking distance of the other, so you can enjoy the atmosphere of both no matter where you stay. If you plan to use the pool a lot (which obviously would depend on weather), I'd give the slight edge to BCV. The sand bottom zero entry pool is great for little ones. They can sit in the pool and play in the sand. If you don't plan on the pool much, they are both really nice. Do one this year and try the other another time. That's the great thing about DVC.
