We just returned from a fabulous stay at BI. Thanks to everyone for all of their advice while I was planning. You were all 100 percent correct. We adored the atmosphere and I did NOT miss Contemporary at all. We loved the ambiance, the performers at night, the quick access to the parks etc. We had zero complaints....It was like a fairytale. I think we have a new home at Disney!

If anyone has any questions about Boardwalk Inn while planning, I would be happy to return the favor and help!:wizard:

Is the BW area a good choice to come and explore at night with the kids and grab a quick bite to eat? What time do the street performers come out? Also, is there a boat from HS that goes to BW? Sorry for all the questions...just planning out our trip in greater detail tonight and we are hoping to visit the BW one of the days.:)

Yes; sometime in the evening -- maybe 5 or 6 or so; yes, when leaving HS, it's on your left (busses are on the right), but the boat stops going back to HS an hour after closing, so make sure you have a plan for going back. :thumbsup2

Yay! Another convert to the Epcot Lake resort area! I have had two wonderful stays at BWI and one at BC. Our very first trip we stayed at Poly which was really nice but once we stayed at Epcot Lake that was it. We stayed CSR last trip because we needed two rooms and that was more affordable, we missed the BW and kept going over there to eat. Next trip we are staying at Dolphin to get back over there.

Two questions please:

Is boat or walking the only methods for getting to HS?

Are the counter service options plentiful? What is the main/largest one?

Thank you-

Staying at BWV for the first time in September for my 50th birthday!!

Thanks for your trip report. The BWI is our favorite resort :) Can't say enough about it. It is close to Epcot & DHS boat ride or walking :)

To one poster the biggest counter service at the BWI is the Boardwalk Bakery for all meals ( mainly sandwiches & of course baked goods) There is a lounge in main building that has baked goods for breakfast not sure what else during the evening as I have never tried it other than for a mixed drink.

When we stayed there we used the pool bar for counter service too, the food wasn't bad. While not counter service you do have ESPN and Big River Grill handy for quicker sit down. Also across the way is Beaches and Cream, and we had good sandwiches from the BC marketplace. Plus if you have park hoppers, all of Epcot WS is in your backyard so to speak!;)

I'm having it too, I love BWI and I want to stay there when we go in June, I just won't justify the costs for only 3 nights.

Thank you for posting your review, but now you've got me worried:guilty:. I have a summer split booked at BWI/CL (7 nts) and then onto CR/CL (6 nts). We love the CR, but this will be our first BWI stay. Does this mean we won't want to leave to go on to the CR:confused3

I'm glad u had a great time! We're driving home now from our Contemporary/BWVs split trip and DH and I both preferred the BWVs area over the Contemporary area. Epcot and HS are our fave parks tho. BW is such a beautiful hotel!

We have stayed at CR and after staying at BWI, I don't want to go back to any other Deluxe. We have stayed at CR, WL, and AKL twice.

Oh how I so feel your pain. We were there 2/5-2/10 in a BW view DVC studio and it was heaven. I want to go back!!

I have a trip planned in May. I can hardly wait! This will be our first time at The Boardwalk Inn.
