Boardwalk Inn/Villa - pipe work?

Hi - We are arriving at BWI on 11/16 for a 5 day trip. We've recently read on 2 different sites that there is pipe replacement work at the villa or inn - not quite sure. The contstruction work is said to continue thru Summer '05 - I called the Boardwalk yesterday and the front desk person didn't know anything. Hmmm! Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of work being done? Thanks so much - Dane

There was something possibly in the member "magazine" DVC members get every few months about it, it will not disrupt anyone's visit.

AFAIK, the pipe work is only on the villa side.

This is the info DVC Members received:

Maintenance Alert: Disney's BoardWalk Resort
To ensure facilities are maintained to Disney quality standards, portions of Disney's BoardWalk Resort will be undergoing building maintenance, which will extend to limited areas of Disney's BoardWalk Villas. Engineering Services Cast Members will be replacing sections of the porte cochere roof during March and segments of the piping system through July 2005. Work on the piping system will take place in the Guest room building corridors and surrounding areas daily during the hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. No work is planned to take place in Guest rooms.

It shouldn't impact your BWI stay at all and I doubt it will negatively impact any BWV guests either.

Thanks everyone for the information - the main reason for our concern is that on our last trip - 11/2002 at the Dolphin we were surrounded by jack hammers drilling every afternoon working on a new HVAC system or something. Not a problem if you don't go back to your hotel, but for us with small kids an afternoon nap is Essential. The management moved us twice, but for some reason they never new where this crew was working - and they kept following us - finally a manager came to the room and heard what was going on - it was deafening. They made amends but it l was a situation we don't want to repeat - especially now that we have a one year that will need her naps. Thank again - Dane
