Are there any BWI fans out there? DH and I will be staying for a week next year and I'm so excited! But it does not seem like much activity on the boards for the Boardwalk.

I've read most (if not all :) ) of the BWI posts that came up when I did a search.

Anyone, everyone...tell me something great about the BWI. What do they do best? What is your favorite BWI story? Any little tidbit of trivia or experience makes me get that much more excited about our trip!!!

It will be our first trip to Disney since 2002 - our first just the two of us & the first at BWI. It is our anniversary so we have splurged on a Garden Suite.

I'm about to pass out from excitement! Help a girl make it through!!! :earboy2:

I stayed there several years ago at Chritmas time, they decorated it very nice. If you have kids, they will enjoy the pool. If you get lucky enough you can get a room that somewhat overlooks EPCOT. Our room did. We had a mini balcony..I say mini because it wasn't as large as a regular balcony. It had 2 chairs & a small table, very close together but still nice. The rooms were decorated nice. I loved the fact that there is a daybed. When you have 3 kids.. 2 girls & 1 boy, that day bed comes in handy.

I agree with the first post. It's hard to find info on BWI. We are booked in a Concierge Deluxe Room in early February. I can't wait to read good things on this thread. Keep them coming!

Hi,

We have stayed at the BWI three times (last time 2003) and have had a great experience each time. First of all, the location can't be beat, but some of the other things we enjoyed were:

The main pool and the pool bar (Leaping Horse Libations).
Bellevue Lounge - just off the lobby - for a continental breakfast and beverage at night.
Ability to walk or take a boat to MGM and EPCOT.
Boardwalk Bakery.
The many, many dining choices in the five resorts around Crescent Lake plus all the ones in World Showcase. Good idea to check out all the resorts even if you are not dining in them.
Games of chance on the Boardwalk at night.
Wyland Gallery.
Beaches & Cream at the BC.
Location!! I know that is a repeat.

Have a most magical trip!!

Peg and Bob

Dh and I will be there in 61 days. It is our anniversary also so our girls will be staying with my sister and bil.

This is the first time we have stayed at the Boardwalk and are very excited. :cool1:

I hope you have a GREAT time! I wish it was only 61 days for us...more like 361 unfortunately!!! :guilty:

Be sure to post your trip report!

Ohhh! We are staying at the BWV in a couple of weeks. I have been digging around for info too. The only thing I remember about it, besides its pretty, is that there are crazy seagulls there. The bakery was great too! HUGE Ice-cream cookie sandwiches! Yum Yum. :cheer2: I read that the Villas have larger balconies and Whirlpool tubs. Also noticed that the Inn has some big balconies and some small ones, like someone mentioned. And the pool looks awesome! My daughter will love it. I can't wait! Thanks for starting the post! Keep positng!

as stated the location is probably the best spot on property. I just returned from the boardwalk villas and we had a couple of bus nightmare stories so we really looked forward to our epcot and mgm days so we could just walk LOL. Its nice to be a walk away from jellyrolls as well, had a fantastic time there. The slide is under rehab right now I believe not sure when it is going to re-open.

We've stayed at both BWI and BWV. Loved them both. The Boardwalk is very adult, very classy, and very quiet, (comparatively speaking, usually!!!) The garden rooms area is lovely and there is a quiet pool right behind them that is very secluded and nice. The location is really perfect, and with the convenience to EPCOT and MGM walking or by boat, just can't be beat for older kids and adults who prefer spending more time at these parks rather than MK. I love the whole EPCOT/Boardwalk area at night. Beautiful, and there's lots to do, with bunches of yummy restuarants right at your fingertips.

The only thing I DON"T like about the Boardwalk Inn, is that they don't have a snack bar inside the resort. To fill mugs or get a little snack, you have to go out to the Boardwalk. These conveniences at the CR and AK are nice, although, just because of the sheer size of the place, Mara, at AK can be a walk too depending upon where your room is.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I'm excited to stay at the Beach Club Villas in November too. These resorts don't seem to get the attention they deserve, but since discovering this little area of WDW, it really can't be beat.

Most people always opt for the "monorail" resorts for convenience, but with the boats, I think it's 6 of one and half dozen of the other comparing them to Poly or GF. In my opinion, for convenience, you still can't beat the CR. EVERTHING is RIGHT there with VERY LITTLE walking whatsoever to get anywhere or anything you may need.

Well, that's my little "low down" on the resorts I've stayed at. I've loved them all, but when I think of staying somewhere, now that my kids are grown, I just can't escape from all the plusses the EPCOT resorts offer, especially for adults, and lately end up choosing one of them, so don't worry and ENJOY!!!

This is my all time favorite resort. Since you have a Garden Suite booked you will be able to enjoy the concierge services and lounge. We always stay on the CL here. The IPO cast are the best on property and are so wonderful to work with to get ADRs andf any special little thing you want. Now the cast of the Innkeeper's Club just can't be beat. They will do anything for you to help make your trip magical.

Southjerseymom My husband and I had a deluxe room last Oct. and loved it. It was right over the bakery and the view was beautiful. The extra space was very nice too. You have 2 queen beds, a queen sleep sofa and 2 tvs.

The close proximity to Epcot and MGM is great. It is so nice to stroll around to the YC and BC and back. The entertainment on the BW is fun to watch and Jelly Rolls is the best! I love being able to walk to Epcot to eat.

All of you enjoy your trips.

You will love it there! We went in August to celebrate our anniversary, it is a wonderful resort and the garden suites are adorable! They are right by the quiet pool, which is where we spent most of our time since it was much quieter than the main pool. The concierge staff there is very friendly and helpful, don't hesitate to chat with them, they really added to our experience! We loved being able to walk to MGM or Epcot, or any of the other resorts in the area. The walk to MGM is a little long, though, so we ended up taking the boat most of the time.
I agree that there doesn't seem to be as much chatter about the BWI on the boards. I think it may be because the Inn side is relatively small compared to other resorts. The villa side is large, and I thought a little confusing to get around.
Definitely hit the bakery, it's awesome, and the desserts they make for the concierge lounge are out of this world.
I hope you have a wonderful trip, if you have any questions, ask away!

We stayed concierge deluxe last fall....the property is beautiful and it is a relaxing walk to Epcot as well.....but I think the concierge room (food and drinks) is not nearly as "child friendly" as the Poly or AKL. If you have older children, it's probably fine. No special kids area w/tv, and it was always very quiet. With small children we won't stay at the BWI concierge again....maybe when the kids are older.

Hi, we have stayed at the Boardwalk for the last 3 years and we are going again in October. We stayed in the Garden Suites our first year and then in the villas the last two. I love the Boardwalk because there is so much to do around there. I love being able to walk or ride the boat to MGM and Epcot. We usually drive to AK. We always have trouble getting a bus from AK to the Boardwalk. The pool is fun and we love to get ice cream at night at the candy store! One year we had a view of Wishes and Illuminations, which was great on those nights that we were too tired to stay out. The piano bar JellyRolls is fun and so is the ESPN bar! You really don't hear a lot about the BWI but it really is fun. I just love the walkways to Epcot and MGM. It just seems so convienent. Epcot has become one of my favorite parks and I think it is because of us staying at the BW!!! You'll enjoy it! Have fun! :cool1:

BWI is our new favorite. We stayed there in February and we are staying again in January. We love the location, the theming - everything. Our standard room was very nice with a nice view of a courtyard. We had a balcony and it was really lovely.

I think you will love it.

Have fun!

We will be staying @ Boardwalk Villas the last week of Sept. We've never stayed there but love the location. I know that DH will enjoy the ESPN club. It is a short walk or boat ride to Epcot & MGM (the walk a little longer but boat ride is nice). We stayed @ Beach Club Villas (right across the water) 2 years ago and loved the location. You can also rent surry bikes and ride around Boardwalk, across the bridge to BC&YC and back across the other bridge back to BW. This looked like fun for our kids, so we did it - It's a real workout especially after a day in the parks. Have a great trip!!!

DH and I love BWI! I think it's one of my favorites, if not my favorite, and we've stayed at all moderates and deluxes except GF and BC. First, location is great - Epcot is our favorite park. There are so many restaurant choices right there and there is Jellyrolls; the best part is you can walk to your room after. You can walk right outside the hotel and there is stuff to do (and that doesn't include the parks). I love the Boardwalk bakery - yum!

I thought the resort would be noisy, but our room was really quiet and overlooked the courtyard. We were there at the end of January, which is an off time. Our room was quiet, but we were close to an entrance outside and right off the lounge so it was really convenient. We enjoyed our balcony; we could sit on our balcony and enjoy the quiet and then go to the back of the resort and enjoy the action of the boardwalk. Mousekeeping was good. We like the theme and the atmosphere. You can walk to 4 other resorts, and you can take a nice boat to MGM. We didn't use the pool because it was January and too cold for us native Floridians!

The only bad part of our stay was the person who checked us in was not friendly at all.

Enjoy your trip! :)

Keep posting your stories!!!

DH2B and I will be visiting WDW for the first time in just 11 days!!! :earseek:

We're getting married at Sea Breeze Point and we're staying in a concierge deluxe room at BWI. I love hearing about this resort and I'm so looking forward to seeing it myself!!!

So keep coming with all the info!!

 :cheer2:  :cheer2:

We were able to get the temperature in the room down to 59 degrees! BWI has great A/C. It was 98 degrees all week we were there.

There seemed to be less staff service at BWI than other places I stayed. We enjoyed it, but we had better service at the Contemporary.

Location is the best. Quiet pool is very nice. Big pool was too crowded.

We'll be staying at the BWI in December. We're trying concierge for the first time - thought we would splurge. We have stayed three times at the BWV and as others have said, you can't beat the location. It's a great place to just sit and people-watch. And being able to walk out the "back door" after Illuminations is just wonderful!

We had an AWESOME time there. This will be our second time over Halloween
and we just love it. It fun to walk around the Boardwalk at night to see the juggler and carnival type people doing card tricks and the moving piano man.
The walk to Epcot is great. The Boardwalk Bakery is excellent. The restaraunts are great. The whole night time atmosphere is FUN. You'll love it!
Not to mention Jelly Rolls or Atlantic Dance.
