Hi ,

We have at the moment, chosen Boardwalk Inn for our stay next year. We will be travelling with DS (4) and Mother, Father & Mother in-law and Father in-law (low 60's)

We thought that the Boardwalk Inn would be nice, but seen as the Yacht/Beach club is the same $$$ as BWI, do you think we should try there??

Is the Yacht/Beach club to crowded, noisy and busy seen as it has over 1,000 rooms compared to Boardwalk Inns 300?

Are the rooms nicer at Boardwalk Inn or Yacht/Beach Club?

Does one have a better location/ better transport compared with the other?

Also, as we are staying concierge: does one have a better concierge compared with the other?

Sorry for all the questions!

Thanks in you can help! :)

Richard.

I have stayed at the YC (lagoon view concierge) and the BWI (regular room), and I thought both resorts were really wonderful. They definitely have a GREAT location. Both had a relaxed feel, and neither seemed overly crowded. I really don't think you can go wrong either way. If your son really loves to swim you might consider changing to the YC or BC since it has a super incredible pool area (the BWI's pool is very neat too though). I thought the concierge staff at the YC was wonderful! Perhaps you could check out the pictures of the different resorts on www.wdwig.com to see which decorating scheme you prefer. :)

We have also stayed at both and they are both wonderful. The only thing about the BWI that made us want to stay there again this year is the fact that there are many places to eat right there at the hotel from pizza or a hot dog or something from the bakery to a sit down meal. The YC/BC has no fast food....right at the resort. Beaches and cream was crowded and the only takeout they had was ice cream.....

One drawback to BWI is that you always have to go somewhere to eat. The YC/BC has a low-moderate priced sit-down right inside the resort. Also, the pool at YC is spectacular. Tons to do there, and a shipwrecked vessel is the giant slide. It's amazing. It may be a bit easier for the eldest members of your party (if they have any physical conditions or don't especially like to walk) to get to the restaurant in the YC/BC than to go outside to the Boardwalk.

You will probably find the biggest differences in the concierge offerings. I stayed at BWI concierge, and was a little disappointed in the food. Midday was just pretzels, chips, m&m's and other stuff that I wouldn't normally eat anyway. They offered little toast bits with a cream cheese spread at about 3:30, I think. There is only so much cream cheese a person can eat on a vacation. The food offerings got old fast. Same skimpy stuff day after day.

If it matters to you. The YC just had their rooms totally redone at the end of 2002. The BC is in the process of redoing their rooms now and will be done within the next month.

When we stayed at the YC we had a brand new room and it was so nice to walk into a room where everything was brand new.
