What is the best option for ice cream or desserts on or very near the boardwalk? We'll be eating dinner at BRG, but always save room for dessert!

Beaches & Cream is great but is often very very busy.
We stay at the Beach Club and everytime we went, we couldn't get a seat...it took wayyy too long.

I guess it all depends at what time you go!

Seashore Sweets for ice cream or Boardwalk Bakery for desserts.

The Boardwalk has an Ice Cream location called Seashore Sweets and it's very good.

:thumbsup2
Not to mention that Seashore Sweets' sundaes are considered
a snack on the dining plan ;)
They were big enough that DH & I shared one- it was just enough for two.
We really need an icecream lickin' smilie... :mickeybar

Don't discount the desserts at Big River Grille! They are AMAZING! The chocolate cake is to die for, and the cheesecake is really good too.

Beaches and Cream "to go" just uses boring old Edy's ice cream. It's nothing special. Same at Seashore Sweets.

Beaches and Cream will be a LONG wait for ice cream sundaes.

If you want TRULY good ice cream sundaes, head to Ghirardellis in Downtown Disney.

There is also a funnel cake kiosk on the Boardwalk, if you're into those.

All the ice cream is the same...you will get the same ice cream at the Boardwalk shop as you will at Beaches and Cream

Beaches and cream has more elaborate sundaes IF you sit down to eat...the takeout counter is not worth the walk.

Beaches also has a really good greasy menu that you can't really get anywhere else in WDW

Long story short...whatever you pick will be fine

Do the take out line and eat outside on the tables of beaches and cream. I have never had to wait.:thumbsup2

Boy am I getting hungry!

:thanks:

now....does the BW have similar yummies for coffee and breakfast. I LOVE my morning coffee :coffee: and sweets especially when on vacation! I'd stroll over there at 6 or 7 for a good start to my day!

Boardwalk's breakfast is an absolute joke...the worst thing about the place

The Boardwalk Bakery has lots of tasty treats! Muffins, danish, lots of little cakes and tarts. We enjoyed croissant egg sandwiches and breakfast pastries one morning. No coffee, bill for four sandwiches and four pastries - over $40!!!!! :scared1:

I agree with others BW is great resort with probably the worst breakfast selection of any disney resort.
