Hi everyone,

Just a curiosity here - my friends and I are staying at BWV, in a 2 bedroom, for the first time in August, and we're all fairly connected electronically. I'm curious...does anyone know how the power outlet situation is? My experiences have run the gamut from having to alternate what's charging at OKW to a room full of outlets at BLT. I know BWV is an 'older' resort, so I would tend to think it leans more towards OKW.

Anyone have any insight on this?

Thanks!

I stayed with my brother, his two teens and my adult daughter in a BWV 2-bedroom last summer. I don't recall having a problem with there being an inadequate number of outlets and we each had multiple items that needed to be charged daily. However, I always bring a multi-port outlet with me when I travel in case outlets are few in number or difficult to access. The one that I have is the Belkin 3-Outlet Mini Travel Swivel Charger Surge Protector with Dual USB Ports. It sells on Amazon for $10+.

we were in a 2 bedroom in April. I would suggest bringing an extension cord.... I used it for my phone and fan. I think the plug was behind the nightstand or bed.

The area with the most plugs is the kitchen.

Dh sent his laptop up on the dinette table.

I've stayed there with 2 friends, all of us have a laptop, camera and phone and we didn't have any problems. My one friend brought a squid power strip for charging.

We always bring a surge protector with additional outlets no matter which resort we stay at.

I agree with the PPs. We always travel with a power strip/surge protector. Just in case.

Definitely bring an extension cord! We were at BWVs recently, and it took awhile to figure out where to charge my scooter overnight. We charged batteries and cell phones in the bathroom.

There's a good number of outlets but they may not be where you want them to be, by the bed, etc. The ones by the bedside tables have the phone and clock radio plugged into them. There's a plug in the wall by the table, one at the vanity, and one in the kitchenette if you're in a studio. Since you're in a two bedroom you will have extra outlets. Bring a strip if you want to plug in more in certain places.

And that title should read 'Boardwalk Help'. Smh.

Click edit, then "go advanced" and it will allow you to put your cursor up there and edit your title. I clicked it fully expecting you to be complaining LOL. I was all ready to defend the BW :rotfl2:

We like the idea of a surge protector, although in the villa, you should have a decent amount of outlets between the kitchen and bathroom in addition to the bedrooms and living room outlets. I usually have phone chargers hooked up next to the sofa, on the kitchen counter and alongside the bed in the main bedroom.

Don't forget camera charger if you plan to use a separate camera rather than your phone.

Oh, and we've never run out of outlets at OKW. Were you in a studio because I think in a 1BR we never needed any more outlets than what we had at the table/dining area on those cabinets, plus alongside the bed, in the kitchen (they're all along the wall) and even in the bathroom.

Another vote for the power strip. We take them everywhere. Boardwalk doesn't have enough easily accessible outlets-- BLT, as you said, has plenty.

Nah, don't change it. It fits. ;)

You know your two bedroom villa at BWV will be a lockoff, right? One king bed, one queen bed, one queen sleeper sofa and one double sleeper sofa. Full kitchen plus a kitchenette.

You got everyones attention :lmao::rotfl:

I agree! I came here to find out the juicy scoop on why the Boardwalk was so hellish! :rotfl: all in good fun, OP... we all make typos now and then (especially with that darn autocorrect).

We bring a power strip also. They make ones with extra-wide spacing for various chargers. I think mine was around $4 at Wal-Mart.

Me too! I was hoping for some scary nightmares about clowns with glowing eyes, or more stories of people getting lost in the stairways!

8 of us stayed in a 2BR last summer and we had great stories. We also had a serious shortage of plugs for our million devices.

If you go down to Disney at least once a year, check out Owner's Locker. It makes life much easier.

That's what we do as well. We don't always need it, but it's better to have it and not need it vs needing it and not having it!!

A two bedroom at BWV will offer many outlets...a lot in the kitchen if I remember correctly.

Have got to agree with all the power strip and extension cord people. We are just two adults but we each have a smart phone (needs to be charged at night), we each bring our laptops and have those out all the time, I have a video camera I charge each night, I have a digital camera I charge each night. That's six gadgets for just two people! I simply pack a power strip in my camera bag so we are covered for everything.

But a hint for those who need more outlets - don't forget the bathroom outlets for cell phones. Unplug the hair dryer and you have two very useful outlets.

Thanks all! It sounds like we should be ok then. Although I may get a PowerSquid just in case.

We were in a studio at OKW. It was awful in that regard. Only 2 of us in the room, and we were alternating what we were charging.
