Carnival games, surrey bike rides, entertainment (magic acts, at times, I think), several good TS restaurants, a candy/ice cream store, other food stands (love the funnel cakes!). All in all, a fun place to hang out for a couple hours if you have the time.
They have some real good street preformers.
It might be worth a trip just to see the area and the resort itself. And you can always go back through the back entrance of Epcot to go somewhere else.
The International Gateway entrance to Epcot is a 5 minute walk from the BW. This entrance to the park works like any other park entrance. Once through the turnstiles, you will be in the World Showcase area between the France and England pavilions.
It's just a nice walk across the bridge from the Boardwalk to the back entrance of Epcot (it's called the International Gateway). It brings you into World Showcase, by France and England.

We stayed at BWI the end of June in 2007, and they had The Future Of Cool was going on. My two daughters had a ball, my oldest did karoke and they also had games along the boardwalk. But we had the most fun listening and dancing to a DJ. We cancelled dinner ressies to stay here. We still watch the dvd of our daughter karoking. Wish we were going back, it was on a weekend.
