We've only stayed at BWV once--this last April. We enjoyed our stay and the view. We were right above the pool, which was also convenient to the elevators.

I am guessing that a "waterview" view could mean all the rooms along the canal, which means quite a distance from the lobby, right? The reason I'm asking is we are thinking of confirming at BWV rather than waitlist at BCV, and with my grandmother traveling with us, I want to get an idea of how far (potentially) we can expect to be from the lobby area.

There really isn't a "waterview" category at the BWV - that's one of the CRO terms for views at the BWI.

For points at BWV, the views are:

Standard view - less points, overlook the hotel entrance and driveway leading up to it

Preferred view - Pool/Garden - same points as BCV rooms, overlook one of the pools, the Village Green area or garden & landscaping. Most of these will also have a view of the Swan/Dolphin hotels and/or the canal

Preferred view - guaranteed Boardwlk view. Same points as other preferred views, but a reservation category of its own. The rooms overlook the Boardwalk and Crescent Lake.

There are rooms in all categories that are near/far from the elevators. If being close is important, make it a request. My advice is to make it your only request, after your smoking preference.

Best wishes -

Thanks, Carol. I suppose we had the pool/garden view last time. At any rate, securing the two studios now at BWV rather than waiting for a possible opening for the second studio at BCV makes me sleep better at night...and BWV is beautiful.

there are water views close to the elevators - that darn pool - but they are definitely close to the elevators.

if you are worth about your grandmother walking - then ask for a room close to the elevator.

Thanks all. I went ahead and cancelled my BCV studio and the pending waitlist also and opted to book these two studios while I could since it is the week before Easter that I'm interested in. I like BWV and the mom and grandma have never stayed there...it will be something new. Hubby will just have to enjoy the clown instead of the sand bottom!!

We also travel with an older family member on some trips, and have noted on our reservation that was the basis for requesting close to the elevator. We've not had a problem getting a room in that area under those circumstances.
