Boardwalk-Epcot question

I am intrigued about the 'bus from Boardwalk to WDW resorts' information. Many times, when staying at other resorts, we have visited the Boardwalk late at night, to go to Jellyrolls, and gone back to Boardwalk concierge desk to ask for a taxi back to our resort. Not once have they told us there are buses running to the resorts. So either they don't run that late or concierge don't know their stuff either (which I find strange).

Speaking in general, the resort CMs don't know a thing about the transportation system.
They don't ride it, and they can't even see any of it from where they work.

So many stories on these boards about guests asking the CMs at any of the resort desks (concierge included) about buses/monorails/boats to the parks (the most basic kind of info) and being fed bad info.

We once ran into a concierge at WL who gave us incorrect information about dining at Be Our Guest (back when you needed an e-mail invitation to get fast-tracked for lunch). On our next trip, the same guy (he had a very distinctive hairstyle which is why we remembered him) was at CR and gave us incorrect information about boat from CR to WL to FW. I was so mad I actually e-mailed guest services about him and thankfully haven't seen him since.

Not trying to thread jack OP but how late does the boat run between HS and Epcot? I know its an hour after park close but which park?

It tends to be DHS, but we've been there and ridden the boat back to DHS much later than an hour after DHS closing time.
(Many guests' cars are parked at DHS.)
I'm not sure who determines the boat schedule or why it appears to be so inconsistent.

the walk between BW and HS is only about a mile long. It's well lit and a paved walkway the entire way. It's a good alternative if you park at HS and the boats have stopped running.

Very true but you know how long a mile can get after a full day at the park lol

I can see it now. 8 in the morning. It's not that far lets do it, like when you don't want to wait for the train in the parking lot then by 10 pm your cursing yourself saying what have I done lol

Having walked that route several times, I can reinforce this idea.

If they are going to provide a boat, I'm going to take advantage of it, unless time is of the utmost importance.
(Even then, you won't necessarily gain much time. That can depend on a lot of unknown factors.)

I must be crazy or in good shape (which I'm not) or have some sort of mind over matter thing going on, I do this walk every time I stay either at BW or YC/BC and even after a day in the parks I don't find it that bad. Usually we make it back before the boats and we don't really walk that fast. No different than being in WS and having to walk all the way through Epcot to get to the front gate. The only time I wait for the boat is if it's gully washing rain or I'm by myself and it's after the park has closed. But then I get up early in the morning and jog/walk it so maybe I'm just used to it.

I absolutely LOVE the walk from Boardwalk to DHS and I am not, in any way a fitness fanatic - or in particularly good shape. It is a very pleasant, very peaceful, picturesque walk. And it actually can take less time than the boat. On a previous stay, my son thought he had dropped one of his pins on the walk to DHS in the morning. I didn't think, for one minute, it would still be there but while the rest of the family took the boat back to the Boardwalk, I walked back. ot only did I find his pin but I made it back to the resort a good 10 minutes before the rest of the family. Since the boat stops at Swan/Dolphin and Yacht/Beach Club first, it can take quite a while.

What I would do is bus to Epcot, ride Test Track, visit Boardwalk until well into the evening, and then contact UBER to pick you up and bring you back to your hotel. There are codes out there that give first ride free... or even if you don't utilize a code, cost won't be more than $8-10.

My choice? Bus to Epcot, walk to the Boardwalk, then take a bus from BWI back to your resort OR park at Epcot, ride TestTrak, get back in your car, and drive over to the BWI and park there.

You and Robo and possibly someone else suggested this. I contacted Disney on Disneyworld.com and called Boardwalk Inn and both told me that there are NOT busses running at night from Boardwalk Inn to other hotels stating that there never is hotel to hotel bus routes.

With that being said, Robo has mentioned that there is a good chance the person I talked to just doesn't know the facts.

Eh, seems 50/50 people saying park there vs other forms of transportation. But, those that say don't park there are the people who stay at Boardwalk Inn, so, I take it with a grain of salt. But, I do take their concerns into consideration and it is why I am asking the questions about ways to work around the early HS closure that day and Epcot closing before we leave Boardwalk.

Maybe if you still cannot understand, tell the guard at the parking entrance you have FPs for Epcot (don't understand why you only have one????) and can you park at Boardwalk and walk over. Common sense tells me he will tell you there is a big parking lot at Epcot for people going there.
And as I tell my kids, it really doesn't matter how many people tell you doing something wrong is okay. It never will make it right. The way you keep asking here tells me your heart tells you that. The rules are what they are.

And, if I park in the overflow lot on a Tuesday night during one of the least busy weeks of the year, you still feel strongly that it is wrong? To be frank, did you not take that risk booking Boardwalk Inn? We all want to experience Disneyworld...It is a very crowded place in the world. That is something you will need to learn to cope with. Please do not try and rain on my parade for the sake of your parade. Your insinuations that I lack common sense and that I can not understand are impolite and I do not appreciate them.

There will be plenty of parking during the time I will arrive. Again, as I said in another post, if it was Thanksgiving week, or another very busy time of year, I would not even ask. I would be polite and help you Boardwalk Inners out...But, your post is a bit harsh towards me and I really just don't appreciate that. I am going to enjoy the Boardwalk. I am also going to enjoy the experience of the walk into Epcot for a matter of less than an hour. We really are looking forward to walking in the back way. Then I am going to enjoy the walk back to Boardwalk and the Boardwalk itself. If HS did not close early that day, or there was a way to park at Epcot and walk back after park closing, or, if it is true that busses run from BW to other resorts, this wouldn't even be a question.

And, to answer your question, we have 3 fast passes, because it makes everyone have three. However, we will only be utilizing 1. The other 2 are to rides and attractions we will not attend. Test Track is the only attraction we are interested in. And, in the spirit of being polite, I made those other 2 to rides that people generally do not have to wait for even without fastpasses. That way, there are more FP to go around for the main rides.
