Boardwalk-Epcot question

Yes, you can. However, I generally recommend against it unless you are absolutely sure you won't want to add them back again. It is painful to get them back. See the green link in my signature for more information.

Are you sure?
Boy, it would be a game-changer if you could.
Anybody know if any of this is true?

the OP made it very clear that they had no intention whatsoever of doing anything at Epcot other than ride one ride, so I felt safe in giving that advice.

I read that too, but I wanted to point out that caveat. :goodvibes

The people who stay at the Boardwalk are the ones who can't find a place to park because of the people who park there to get in and out of Epcot quickly. The people who say it is okay do not stay there and do not struggle to find parking.
This is what our reservation states:
  • Due to limited parking availability at both Disney's BoardWalk Villas and Disney's Beach Club Villas, we highly recommend all Disney Resort Guests take advantage of our complimentary transportation options. For Guests arriving in their own vehicles, please be advised that only valet parking may be available. For Guests traveling to Epcot, please utilize the Epcot Guest Parking Lot.
Going to Epcot? Perfectly clear--utilize the Epcot lot.

Maybe if you still cannot understand, tell the guard at the parking entrance you have FPs for Epcot (don't understand why you only have one????) and can you park at Boardwalk and walk over. Common sense tells me he will tell you there is a big parking lot at Epcot for people going there.
And as I tell my kids, it really doesn't matter how many people tell you doing something wrong is okay. It never will make it right. The way you keep asking here tells me your heart tells you that. The rules are what they are.
Enjoy your trip.
I agree with this.

When we stayed at BWV, we almost always had a problem finding some place to park in the BW parking lot. We usually just waited around till another car left the lot and took their spot.

Late at night there are buses that run from the Boardwalk to all WDW resorts.
They can be boarded at the Boardwalk's bus stop, out in front of the hotel.

I've never heard of this. Is this true?

Can anyone confirm that they now run busses from Boardwalk to resorts directly? The last time we stayed late at Jellyrolls we took a bus to DTD and then to the resort.

Allegedly they do but nobody has actually taken one or seen one and the staff at the resort don't seem to know anything about them. So who knows?

I'll be at YC starting next Tues, I shall walk over to BW after Epcot closes (I think it's 9 that night) so I'll walk (read stumble since I'll be at F&W) over to BW and hang out at the bus stop to see if buses come to do resort to resort. What time should I go over there? Around 10? Hope no one thinks I'm a lady of the night.

I've read about them on the Transportation board. And I've also read that the only CMs you should ask about transportation are transportation CMs.

Who knew?

as far as FPplus , the system insists you make 3 FP choices. . I want one for soarin. one for test track. one for illuminations... I can't believe they even put living with the land in that tier! but since I have to make them, I might as well use them/ si we al end up making FP choices we normally wouldn't make. If I decide that day or the day before I can't use them, it's too late for me to cancel them. I don't have access to the internet on our trip.. no smart phone. no lap top. so sorry, ythe aren't going to be cancelled.
MDE should allow you to make only one FP plus if that's what you want.

You CAN cancel any FP that day, if you want to.
Just go to a FP kiosk.

sorry. I'm not waiting in line for that. just being honest. they can let me book only the one FP I want. or they can get rid of the tiering system..

I really don't know why they insist you make 3 FP. with an annual pass, there are often times we are going in the park for just a bit. maybe to eat and see illuminations.. or watch british revolution, see a flower power concert (oops, sorry, garden rocks) and do only one ride.

so I book Fps I don't really want . but no way am I waiting in a line to cancel a FP I didn't want in the first place just because I don't have a smart phone.

Yeah, nice to know it is difficult to regain that FP for the day as plans can change. So, I remade the FP for the day and will cancel as plans become more clear. As Mesa said, and thank you Mesa for that amazing post about FP, I had to remake the FPs entirely to regain the 2nd and 3rd FPs.

Hopefully that confirmation of late night buses will have been obtained by that point. That way plans can be made accordingly. But, yes, as of now, park at BW, stroll in the back way to Epcot, Test Track, stroll back out, Boarwalk until board. Then home. I know, I know, I have ruined everyone's vacation. :P #DisneyWorldProblems

no. you are doing nothing wrong. you have plans to explore the boardwalk on your arrival night. disney encourages guests to do so.. advertizing the shops, restaurants, street entertainers, etc. you happen to be taking a bit of time out from your boardwalk exploration/enjoyment to use one FP. no biggie.. have fun!

by the way, the best spot to watch illuminations from OUTSIDE the bridge between beach club and boardwalk. realize that MOST of the illuminations show is lower, on the lagoon.. it's not so a total "in the sky" fireworks like Wishes at MK.. but it's kinda coll to watch it.. you can kinda hear the music (if everyne around you will hush up! lol) don't count on it.
you can also rent surry bikes to peddle around crescent lake, and watch a movie on the beach at beach club, or on the village green at boardwalk.

Thank you for those ideas!! It is much appreciated. I will now have to look in to all of those for us to do :) Even more excited now than I was before (if it is possible to be more excited than I already am).

I meant to say: the best spot from OUTSIDE the parkis the bridge between BC and BW... sorry for the confusion
