This is like my home town area as we are DVC owners and love the Boardwalk. Since you don't have exact times and want something a little lighter on the pocket book, then Big River and ESPN are the way to go. With ESPN not taking ressies (as previously stated) as long as there is not a huge sporting event, or it is not a peak season time of year, the wait won't be too long and they are laid back where you can hang out until the rest of your party arives. Big River has burgers and such, but in peak season, the wait can be as long as an hour plus, so they are both hit and miss. If that happens to you, then you may want to try another option, and that would be the Spoodles Pizza Window. You can order pizza and sit outside, that may be your cheapest route (although the pizza is not all that cheap - but pretty good). On the same note, the sandwhiches at the Boardwalk Bakery are pretty good too - plus a great place to follow it up with dessert. If seating is limited outside, then also walk up towards the entrave to the Boardwalk Villas/Inn. There are rocking chairs and some tables outside there where you can hang out as well.
Someone else in this thread mentioned Beaches and Cream - This is actually at the Beach Club, opposite the Boardwalk. This place is very small, and does not seat a lot of people, so if you have a big group, I wouldn't recommend it. However, if you do have a big group, and can get in, try the Kitchen Sink - it is a lot of fun if you have enough people or Really love ice cream.
Enjoy!!!
