Hey Disney Community!

A few questions regarding our upcoming trip in February at Boardwalk DVC (we are renting points from DVC-Rental).

1) How do you request adjoining rooms? We're traveling with friends who are staying in a studio as well. I don't see it on the MDE app or online. I've been told when you call that you can't actually speak to the Boardwalk hotel directly. I've also heard of people faxing in requests?

2) I'm sure this is all relative to each party but any tips for room location at Boardwalk? I saw that some Gondola construction can be heard at night time in some rooms?

3) Best food options for affordable meals on the Boardwalk? We've stayed before and had a bad experience at Big River Grille.

4) Feel free to drop in any other Boardwalk tips! :)

Thanks all!

Which room category do you have? Standard view? Garden View? Boardwalk view? We had a Standard View for our last trip and ended up on the second floor, about 1/2 way down the building. At first, I wasn't crazy about it, but it ended up being a great location. Since it was on the second floor, we didn't have to worry about the elevator (there's only one set of elevators on the DVC side, and they can be sloooowww). We spent a fair amount of time at Hollywood Studios, so being 1/2 way down the building had us that much closer to the HS walkway! Also, we didn't hear any gondola construction when we were there. When we have a Garden View, I like to request close to the elevators and a high floor. The high floor sometimes allows a view of the HS fireworks, depending on your location.

For food options, I would recommend going over to the Dolphin and checking out their options. I liked their quick serve foods better than the quick serve foods around the boardwalk resorts. Also, the Pizza window recently re-vamped their pizza crust. We tried it on our last trip and it was a big improvement over what they used to have. I wouldn't hesitate to get pizza there again.

Have a great trip!!

We asked for close to the lobby when we rented points in 2016. Got it and made getting in/out of the hotel easier. We ate a Big River and it was fine. Flying Fish (good but overpriced).

The DVC member that you rented from owns the reservation, so only they can make requests. You'll need to contact the agency you worked with and ask them to have the member add your requests.

Once you have the WDW reservation number and enter it into MDE you can make room requests. You just can't buy add-ons like dining.

I'll clarify, I made a request when I did online check in.
Got it. But On line requests have been broken on and off, mostly on, for over a year. The safest way is to ask the owner to make the request with Member Services.

I can’t speak to room requests but here are some food ideas. I find ESPN to be pretty good for pub fare - burgers, wings, sandwiches etc. Beaches ‘n Cream at Beach Club is an old fashioned soda shop with burgers, ice cream etc albeit very small and tough to get a reservation. The Fountain at the Dolphin is similar concept with what I thought a better burger and easier to get into. Bluezoo, also at the Dolphin, is a great seafood place. It’s pricey but they do have some happy hour offerings in the lounge - the crab nachos are especially good. Il Mulino (at the Swan) may also have happy hour deals. Crews Cup Lounge over at Yacht Club also hidden gem (no reservations taken). If you have park hopper tickets, the walk into World Showcase is an easy one with lots of options. I’ve not tried dinner but have enjoyed breakfast and lunch at Ale & Compass at Yacht Club. Posting the food question on the restaurant board might yield additional feedback. Have fun!!

There are no connecting DVC studios at Boardwalk. There are some near each other, but be prepared to have them be far apart.

There are no connecting studios at BWV so I’m assuming you just mean close together. Some people say adjoining and mean connecting. You can have the member call member services and put a “traveling with” notation with the other reservation number.

You will want to add "traveling with" and the other reservation number added to both reservations. DVC resorts don't usually accept faxes and usually toss them. If you want to be close make that your only request and don't make any location requests.

As for dining, you could try the Marketplace at the Beach Club or The Dolphin Fountain. And then there is the Boardwalk Bakery of course.

Thank you! We'll be in a Garden View. I've heard great things about the D&S food options so we will probably head over there! We haven't had pizza from the window since last January so I'll definitely check it out!

I'll do that, thank you!!

All great ideas, thank you so much! I've heard great things about everything you mentioned. But Crews Cup is new to me so I'm going to check out their menu!

We have been lucky to have two studios next to each other twice. There are no connecting studios at bwv, but there are some studios right next to each other. We had 2 pool view studios once that looked directly onto the clown pool. The owner you rented from needs to make the traveling with notation on your reservation.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Our last stay at bwv, our two villas were on the same floor, but way apart.

We rented points and stayed at the Boardwalk in September and LOVED it! I'm sure you'll have a great trip. Definitely recommend getting ice cream at Ample Hills, and then Flying Fish! We had one of our favorite meals of the trip there--fantastic service, amazing food...highly highly recommend. And you can't beat strolling back to your room after dinner, not having to deal with Disney transportation, just enjoying the magic of the boardwalk. :)
